i was under the impression they only touch through other particles, gluons? which transmit the strong nuclear force between them.

Maths and nature ?, if u drop a stone to the ground it must cover half the distance, then half of the remaining distance and so on. So mathematically it never reaches the ground

I thought it was how far out the electrons go. Even though the electromagnatism causes you not to touch the texture, the nerves are still affected by it and they send a signal to neusrons in your brain, which tells yuor conscience what the texture is.

feel is related to pressure, thanks to newtons third law, whether or not you touch it or not, is not relevant to feel. there is still an action reaction pair, which exerts a pressure on your skin which you detect as feel.
