Not a pie...

First of all, we need to separate out pie types from pie flavours.
For examples, classic key lime pie is a flavour of custard pie and classic apple is a flavour of a fruit filling pie.
However, many flavours can be incorporated (and also combined) into different pie types. For example, pumpkin pies are often made into custard, fruit puree, or even chiffon pie types.

The following illustration does not exhaustively list all pie types. Consider also puree, mince, and chess pies, to name but a few.




Harry and David sell pies, so this might be more marketing than sound data.

I'm not on the side of pie for any purpose. I'll eat one if it's in front of me, but in my entire life I've never seen a pie that fulfilled any need other than overfilling people who were already full. Just delicious things like blueberries or coconuts perverted by being stuffed into an oversized wrapper of soggy bread. Ho-hum.

My only point was to make a subtle joke about the fact that you guys can turn any thread into a political thread. Obviously too subtle.

I enjoy pie as a dessert. I likely enjoy too many types of pies and too much of them. I am trying to have more self-discipline, FOED PIES, and cut back, and have lost a few pounds in that process of cutting back. Pie is the traditional dessert around here for Thanksgiving; we like pumpkin, pecan, and apple. My daughter likes peach and my wife likes cherry, with both sweet and sour cherries. My Dad enjoyed mincement. I enjoy them all.

The FOE part is a weak attempt at humor, for those who object to the FOE.....Don't be a HO' and respect the FOE.

I even like PI day, March 14.
