The trouble with megalomaniacs is that their condition progresses; they believe more and more in their own infallibility and cannot be influenced. After Hitler won a few campaigns planned by his generals, he believed in his own bullshit and started completely ignoring the advice of his own generals and giving insane orders everywhere. That is the concern with Trump, that this time the sane people will not be able to restrain him and he will indulge in his crazier notions.

He's been very clear in promising no sane people in the cabinet this time around, he doesn't want to repeat the mistakes of not prosecuting his political opponents again.
