Earlier I heard Larry Elder say the Rats are in a hard spot -- if Biden steps aside and Harris doesn't get the top job, Black Women, the Rats' most loyal constituency, will erupt into open revolt. But if Harris does get the top job, the Rats are stuck with someone even less popular than Old Joe.

Also, the Biden campaign, in an effort to stifle critics, just blew $50 million of the $91 million they had left booking Old Joe TV ads for the month of July. If Biden drops, they've just took half their cash pile and lit it on fire.

Good Try, GaryD. You found several people who criticized Trump and his speech. That would have happened, no matter WHAT he said and no matter how long he spoke. Those folks will not change the overarching story.

In contrast,

1) I doubt Biden could have stayed awake or even ALERT on stage that long WAITING to give his speech.

2) I doubt Biden could have given a speech over 90 minutes (or even one hour), no matter what time of day.

3) I doubt Biden could have put together enough sentences to make a coherent point WITHOUT a teleprompter. (Biden cannot read the teleprompter correctly, reads aloud notes handed to him to TELL him he is NOT on message, and will make numerous gaffes.)

I also went to the only semi-crazy conservative pundits to find anyone praising the speech. I stopped after the one I found said he turned it off after 20 minutes.

Although I have some people I love who disagree with me. I think the best thing Biden should do is step down and let Harris become president and then one of the great Democratic governors can be VP and Democrats have a great ticket.
