True about Python. Once I watched The meaning of Life, super stoned, and it made a profound impression on me...it was super intense and I thought that the grotesque part was way over the line, also it felt like they were talking really to me...months after I decided to watch it again, not stoned, and the intensity went completely off, it felt even banal
About the question itself, I side with the OP. A stoner movie is a movie to watch stoned, not a movie about stoner people. although sometimes this can overlap, like in a movie like fear and loathing las vegas
