There were slaves and slave-owners of every race. What's your point? How is that related to the use of the word being acceptable?


I don't think the hysteria surrounding the word is justified - context and intent are important. For example, I thought it was ridiculous for Kendrick Lamar to call out a white fan for rapping the lyrics to his song.
On the other hand, I also don't get why people have a problem with refraining from using it. If (some) black people feel disrespected when you say it, why would you want to?
