I saw it, and one of the main reasons I wanted to see it was because I wanted to hear Taking Back Sunday (Which is another reason why I'm going to buy the soundtrack).
It was alright, but I didn't find it that funny (Not like it was meant to be, but some parts were meant to be funny), and yeah. The transformers were cool

Though, Shai, or whatever his name is, kinda spoiled it for me. I found him too corny and such.

I've heard a lot of people say that they though Shia was riding a fine line between corny and funny. I think he was funny but that might be due to my old Disney Channel days only five or six years ago.
I just want to know if they are going to pull a crazy "Megatron isn't really all that dead" spin, or if they are going to actually use a new villian instead.
I also wish I had some idea of who the new Autobots will be in the next movies.

question: if I could go to the theaters only once, which should I see: live free or die hard or transformers? (if I'm not any sort of big fan of either franchises)

I haven't heard much about "Live Free or Die Hard" other than several people I know have enjoyed it. I would say if you can only go once to just go see Transformers, but as my username suggests, I am a little bit biased on the subject.
Transformers hasn't had many detractors so far that I've found, I can tell you that much.

in this case, megatron was never dead, he came to earth seeking the allspark, but got caught out in the cold and was deactivated by it (idk how it works either), then Frenzy eventually hacks the storage facility and frees him and there is a big battle and megatron dies.

your looking for Transformers detractors eh? the main villain is absent for half the movie, there is no actual transforming aside from Blackout (or whatever, the helicopter) in the opening sequence, until like a third of the way into the movie. The robots are harmed by earth weapons, if frozen they power down, Jazz gets ripped in half and dies (shouldn't happen, the only way to kill a cybertronian is to extinguish it's spark, ripping it in half wouldn't do that as the spark is located in the chest area), Bonecrusher gets stabbed in the face and dies (see Jazz's death for reasons). Civilian Hackers are employed by the Dept. of Defense.

hmmm sounds like die hard has less haters, then again you sound like a lover of the transformers franchise that is just nitpicking all the details...

theres a slim chance that my uncle will take us to see transformers, but most likely the next movie I see is bourne and I won't see transformers until me and my friends are bored one day and we go and rent it.

Saw it, it was okay. Not amazing. Hated the love sequence. Only time it came in handy was that joke about the feromone levels (spelling?)

pheromone. yeah that was cool, still MORE ROBOTS, and drop the "more than meets the eye" references.

Was the allspark the cube?

Yeah, the allspark was the cube.

And Michael Bay calls shrinking "cheating."
If a giant cube with no sense of hollowness can collapse into a tiny cube, why not a robot turning into a tape deck?
Then Frenzy would have had a place to go to rather than to just be the convenient, "This way we get a robot the humans can fight with face to face" excuse.
Rumble would've been a cooler bot to use if that was what they wanted. At least he talked.

Frenzy spoke, it was just unintelligible for the most part, but yes Rumble would have been more apt, I didn't like the fact that Frenzy came out of Barricade's/Blackout's chest compartment though, I can't remember, but I don't think they had that ability. Also, Jazz and Bumblebee had the wrong transformed states, but then they can't have German manufactured cars turn into giant robots with futuristic weapons now can they.

The type of car thing doesn't really faze me. I mean, Prime was supposed to be a cab-over type truck, not a Peterbilt. But in the end, it's not about what kind of vehicles they turned into.
And that was an homage to Soundwave, of which Frenzy was one of the four mini-bots.

They didn't want to use him because:
A) He turns into a tape deck and that's too old school for the iPod using audience.
B) He shrinks down when he transforms, and Michael Bay publicly said that he thought the whole shrinking thing was too unrealistic and "cheating."
It is unrealistic until you realize that you're talking about 35-FOOT TALL ROBOTS THAT TURN INTO CARS.
