Justin Verlander just signed a record breaking extension that could reach over $200 million and will keep him in Detroit through 2019. [player]nietzsche[/player], that means he won't be going to Boston, sorry Mr. Mexico.
Tigers are my pick to win the World Series this year. DISCUSS.
Lol. Like I would expect the current management of Boston to make a good acquisition. We would more likely pay 200 million for Santana or AJ Burnet.

Sorry boys I don't think the Cardinals have the horses to win it this year boys.. With no Carpenter that will be tough...
My Rangers are adjusting to life after Hamilton, Young, and Napoli but we will be fine! Our pitching rotation is nice and looking promising! We will win this division over the Angels I believe and they will grab a wildcard spot.

Didn't have Carpenter last year either.

The success of the Cardinals boggles the mind.

Had 3 chances to make it to the World Series. They didn't have Wainwright in 2011 yet won the World Series.

Really pissed at the Nationals today... Jordan Zimmermann gave up a ludicrous 8 hits and 1 FUCKING RUN in 6 innings. Other than that solo home-run (on the first pitch the hitter saw), the Nationals would have a 3 game shutout to start the season... so ugh-inducing.
Not to mention Bryce... jeez. Can only manage a friggin .500 average? He started the season with a 2.000 OPS! Way to sophomore slump, Mormon Boy Wonder.
Anyhow, I can only hope they manage to snag a spot in the post-season, but regardless I'll enjoy watching them all summer. My expectations for them are so so so low.

There's only one undefeated team left in the MLB. Let's hope they keep it rolling in this series vs the Reds.

Tigers ripped nyy today. I hate nyy more than any team in any sport. Fielder hit two homers and had 5 RBI's.

That's not saying much. Look at how old NYY are. Jeter is out, A-Rod is out. I believe the average age of the Yankees is about 38?? LOL!
Listeing to the Jays on SiriusXm Radio and enjoying them coming back against them Red Sox!!

My opinion is biased to be sure, but I still think people are overlooking the Phillies, of course I could be wrong and their pitching could be shot... having started 2-5. :/ Hamels will figure himself out, Doc is shot, and the rest of the rotation should be more than good enough. The bullpen needs work before Papelbon and Addams. The offense will be better if Howard can be more patient at the plate and once Ruiz gets back, they have already been better to be sure, but they still really need a right handed powerbat, so it will be interesting to see how Delman Young does once he gets off the DL.
I know I'm probably wishing for the best here, and contradicted myself more than a few times, but I really have to hold on to that hope, and I know that April is just gonna suck for the Phils... they just have to pull it all together come May and hope that haven't totally screwed themselves by then.

As a fellow Phillies fan, I'm of the opposite opinion. There are two types of Philadelphia fans, in my opinion: overly optimistic and overly pesimistic. I'm the latter. Before spring training, I thought the Phillies would end up around .500 and miss the playoffs. I was convinced that the Braves and Nationals had improved dramatically and the Phillies had improved only a little.
After spring training, I was looking at the Phillies as ending up below .500 because of Halladay. I'm still at about that point. There are too many "ifs" in any positive commentary about the Phillies. I think they'll hit better, but I don't see the pitching beyond Hamels and Lee improving. To be fair, the Royals and Braves are good teams. I was not happy with yesterday's performance (although Harvey is a stud-in-the-making).

Well my prediction of the Angels winning the West took a wrong turn. Weaver is out 4-6 weeks with a broken elbow(non throwing).
