People's concerns about the list being mis-used are certainly valid. But is there any reason to give someone a chance when their transgression is chronic deadbeating? I woud never ban someone based on comments about their style of play, attitude, etc. because I want to see it for myself. But if someone has deadbeated consistently, I don't want to take the chance on them ruining my game.

First they came for the deadbeats,
and I did not speak out because I was not a deadbeat.

Then they came for the team killers,
and I did not speak out because I was not a team killer.

Then they came for the suiciders,
and I did not speak out because I was not a suicider.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

Thank you for your thoughts on the list. I will be sure to take that into consideration in the future.

In recent news I sent a PM to accused SMOKE. The title of which was

unsanctioned suggested ignore list

it read:

Dear Smoke,

Do to your verbal abuse, obscene nature, but most importantly your baseless
accusations of cheating, you have been nominated to be added to the suggested ignore list.

I will give you 48 hours to respond to this private message, after which a committee of your CC peers will put it up to a vote whether or not to add you to the list.

Please try and contact me, or post in the thread to resolve this situation.

Thank you,
GC

Do to the inactivity of his account I don't think we will hear from him. The committee will look at his Feed back, as I have done, as well as suggested game numbers which I have looked up. From that there will be a decision to add him to the list

Committee members will be notified by a PM in the next few days. If they accept the commission to help the CC community they will post here. Otherwise they will notify me privately and I will find a replacement for them.

The committee will be made of 7-9 members and decide on matters of public interest.

I again would like to thank all for their comments and concerns. Skeptics are the fire that keeps this list clean.

Ballistics: This player leaves neg fb for bogus reasons. although he did not leave it for me, he left it for two other players in the game I was in, for bs reasons. A large number of bullshit neg feedbacks is a good reason to put someone on the community list. My list is very long, but this guy sticks out the most. Also having bad fb, I mean lik 12-29 or something should also be a reason for consideration. It's very hard to have more neg's than positives, so if someone does, they should be considered. Most of these are the same people who are on page 65 of the scoreboard anyway, so you won't miss them.

This is the correct way to post.

That being said, he has already been busted by FP and Sully on more than one occasion, thus he doesn't need to be added to the list. Thank you for your post!

I'm just going to tell you straight up, this sounds like a possible good idea in the beginning, but I fear it will eventually fall into the realm similar to that of the 'Protection Racketing' used by the mob decades ago. I could see users extorting others and using this in very unsportsmanlike ways. But maybe I'm just a little too cynical!

I believe that humans are innately good with moments of evil. W/o people watching over it and protecting the rights of the accused, then it could get out of hand. I am thinking of a system of checks and balances so that this list doesn't turn into a bad thing.

With site wide support it could be dangerous. Only with a group of cynical people will this work! Thanks for your concern!

this is just more unneed drama for the website and the thread of ignored people list will turn into one big flame war...

If it does, we can surely move it to the Flame Wars. :D

Very well, then I’d like to file a report as well

Name: GrazingCattle
Reasons for ignore: Has shown tendencies to make suicidal attacks and has also not been a stranger to use foul language in game chats.
Proof: See game no. 320694

Please send out an e-mail giving the guy 48 hours to respond. Then call up a committee to evaluate this and shun him from the CC Community…

*sigh* With that said, I’m not exactly celebrating this idea as something good. What is wrong with you people, why don’t you play games instead of spending your time with useless crap like this? Not only is it unnecessary - the current game options with ignore and feedback is more than well capable of solving any issues here - it is also a blatant show of complete disrespect for the thousands of people having registered on the site. I can only speak for myself here of course, but that weird-ass e-mail you reposted above is insane. Frankly, who the hell are you to start e-mailing people requesting explanations? Since you obviously haven’t understood this, let me enlighten you - you have no bloody business starting to persecuting other players in public (it does not matter that these players may be horribly, horribly annoying). If you wish to indulge yourself trying to be important, try joining some school clubs and make a career going for various sub-committee chairmanships… Jebus… Get a life.

i agree with guilty biscuit

beside
if people deadbeat, you gain and they loose points, thats their punishment
if people send you negative feedback, you can defend yourself
and people who send often negative feedback, always get much negative feedback back, so thats ok too

i dont like putting persons on a list of bad guys
its stigmatizing

Yea but there are a lot of people do cheap crap like de facto turns, etc. and it's gotten worse that people are avoiding game types completely, like freestyle. This way, at least this way, people can enjoy games without worrying about if someone does something cheap.

Alstergren- Glad you could do the one thing that would open all our eyes to the futility of it all. Why demand a higher moral code from those around us? Why try and make people more responsible for their actions? You are right, it would be better to say that it is just a game and that we are nothing like the people we show here on CC. In real life I am completely different. Right?

DiM- Your immature post was the very thing we were trying to avoid. Thank you for being the only person to show how ludicrous it was to make people own up to the fact that they are chronic deadbeats, inane bigots who frustrate all to no end, or poor sports who can't get along with people and accuse all of cheating. You put the entire thing in such a light that I can honestly say that you are a comic genius and I loved your masterpiece you posted here!

selectivity

If this is going to work, then you have to be very strict about who you put on here. This person should be a horrible player, with lots of shitty fb. It can't just be someone who deadbeated 2 games or something. They should have a real shit record, and you should have at least 2 people complain about them, before adding them. Maybe even put up a topic and pole for each one, and see how people feel about them. It can't be the somewhat bad players, should only be the worst dirtbags on the site. Peole with more than 10 neg's and more than 30% of there fb being neg's. Should be someone who leaves unwarranted neg's for other people.

So again to reiterate, ONLY THE WORST SCUMBAGS ON THE SITE SHOULD BE ON THE LIST, not the below average people.

feel free to check the list. that was the point! Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone misses a turn every once in a while. Accountability was the point. How far is too far is decided by the people. This was the point, but it was missed by most.

Player to be added: Ballistics

Reason: Leaves unwarranted negative fb.

Evidence: 1. 243055. He left 2 players neg fb in just this game.
2. Read his fb, and fb left by him.

I mentioned this player before, but I did not put any proof.

superstud1234 should be on there also.

Evidence: His fb. 12-35, that should say it all.

ps. GC, if your going to get this thing going, then you need to get some people on the list.
