*shrug* I definitely felt the whole house shaking and (ironically) said to my friends online that there are no earthquakes in New York, and then 15 minutes later read about an earthquake in Virginia being felt in New York....

Like I said, I was in on the 20th floor in a building in downtown Philly - It literally felt like I had vertigo. It's hard to explain, but the entire building was moving for quite a long period of time. I'm not ashamed to admit, I was scared out of my mind.

No.

Wow...that is shocking. Even I am starting to believe that fracking is throwing off the tectonic plates.

Massive withdrawels can cause land shifts, or something like quakes in isolated areas, but only an idiot or complete troll would claim they move tectonic plates.

Apparently both the Washington Monument and the National Cathedrals were damaged.

I know you are big in environmental causes, and there are some real concerns about fracking causing earthquakes in DFW area and Arkansas. Now they using the same fracking procedures in NY adn PA, and they have an earthquake. AHve you read any of the articles on this?

I am not trying to troll you, or claim the whole plate moved due to this. It may just be coincidence, but I figured you might have read up on this. We have our differences, politically and economically, but here I was really hoping to hear your insight.

It was a bit wild. I thought someone was fucking with me and kicking my chair. But then it just kept going. To me, it felt pretty damn sweet to survive an earthquake for the first time.

First, the procedures used in PA are not identical. The drilling is much deeper, goes more horizontal, some other differences that are technical. Second, they are just beginning operations here. Even though we have hundreds of wells all over, none are more than about 2 years old. So, here its mostly about potential. There have been definition water contamination issues, other concerns, but I have not heard about seismic shifts here. I think is seismic issues happen, it will be down the road a ways.

So, sorry, but I really don't know much about this.
