This is not only a day to honor those who have served. It is a day to take stock in where we have been and where we are going.

I honored my grandfather, my grandfather-in-law, and my uncles. They served in poor conditions and, in my uncles' cases, without the support of the American people on their return. They should be thanked.

Regardless of my views on US foreign policy, this is the reason for Memorial Day.

Jake - While I appreciate your comments, this was the incorrect thread to post those comments in. I would hope that someone as empathetic as you normally seem would have understood that people want to honor their fallen family members without being berated by someone from another country. Unfortunately. it appears I was sadly mistaken. Very disappointing.

Yesterday was a day to honor the memory of veterans everywhere. There are cemeteries all over the World that are the final resting place for thousands of Americans and other participants of many wars. Memorial Day is set aside as a national holiday to remind us of their heroic and unselfish service. To many people around the world who survived the horrors of these wars, every day is Memorial Day.

Today we can ponder the impact of those actions and with the knowledge of what has been, consider what the future holds for all of us.

radiojake I fell sorry for you seems you need mental help to get your head out of your ass . That said I hate war yet it has been around a lot longer than us poor uneducated people here in the U.S.A and it does not seem to be going away anytime soon . So now we go along and wait for another holiday as we wont have to wait for the wars .

This announcement was paid for by lying, cheating back stabbers that smile in your face
