Visually, I can't even read the territory names in the blue and purple regions, and I can barely read any of the others. The bonus box needs to be reworked to be more readable and indicate what regions they're for. I honestly couldn't tell you what half of the regions were.

Still all true.

how come you cut ireland out? i'd have left the north in, in the same way that you have the north of england. makes more sense, plus it would fill that wee corner nicely

You've put the textures on the original version of the map with all the spelling mistakes.

I like the frist texture quite a bit. Not keen at all on the second.

i will try to change the base map soon but i was focusing on getting the names right first, we are having at the moment to keep on e-mailing the maps between two networks, one of which refuses to accept half the e-mails it receave so unfortunatly the map will often be out of date as we have to use the best map avalable on the computer with the right software

i see you added the same texture to all the countries. i belive you did that because you have everything on one layer.

try using lots and lots of layers. each territory with his own different layer, even each border on its own different layer. this way you can apply different textures and effects to each territory thus making the map look much better.

it looks good but you could make the highlands have a more mountanous feel then some of the other areas

Ok ive tried out a few things including combining highlands and islands (again, only a low graphics version)

Lighten up the colours, make your borders more defined (but not too thick - get rid of the bits of white and make them a constant 2px or 3px), get rid of the plasticy effect (looks like you've shrink-wrapped Scotland)... Font needs to be changed as well. Just use something neutral like Arial for now (anything but Times New Roman basically)

The land looks like its indented into the water for me. Try adding a good texture. Scroll at the top is good. Also, clean up the borders.

i don't think so. i had the same scroll in my bill of rights and ditched it when i saw rjbeals has it in his fictional map. also i think i've seen it on a couple other projects. it's just a common picture found on google. i'd personally lose it. plus the scroll is the only thing that screams medevil on this map. it would have fitted nicely if the rest of the map had a medevil look.

I'm no artist/map creator but a few more geographical improvements:

-Midlothian is the correct spelling
-Lanark should be (I think) Refrewshire

Yeh you should be ble to see the end turn button at a normal screen resolution whilst the small map is on the page.

The Philippines map is probably the longest it should be (although your best to pm Andy).

Ok but how can we do this without distorting it or making it unreadable, scotlannd is a long country
