I took the test, and and scored right-authoritarian. On their little scale, I'm about where John Howard is, only a bit further to the right.

Basically, I'm a conservative Republican, who's unhappy with the current party. McCain is the last person I want to win the nomination next year. I support the war, in fact, I think we should be doing more. I'm against illegal immigration (not legal, most all of us are children of immigrants, just do it legally!). Anyway, I don't want to get into too much... so I'll leave it here.

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with you in real life. I only agree with you on three points here (in bold).

As the late Bill Hicks once said, "I think God put you here to test my faith".

Ew, you look it! You look like your filled with life!

I've also found that face, is the same face that non-smokers have.

"I'm pro-life. I'm a non-smoker. I'm a pro-life non-smoker."
Oh man, I wanna party with you and play twister!

'Well, I believe the puppet on the left is more to my liking.'
'Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding up both puppets!'
"Go back to bed, America, your government is in control. Here's Love Connection, watch this and get fat and stupid. By the way, keep drinking beer, you morons.'"

Now what the hell? The bold ones I agree with. But let me say that it is impossible to be anti-homosexuality, because it will always be there. Also seperation of chruch and state is what made us a superpower in the first place - don't trye to take it away.

I am somewhat liberal, I am opposed to pretty much anything in Caleb's list that isn't in bold.

On the compass I got:

Economic Left/Right: -7.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.00

Well into the Libertarian Left, somewhere along the lines of a more extreme Ghandi!

I suppose thats somewhere near my actual political views.

As for political party, in the absence of a true Leftist or Socialist party in the UK I think I'm likely to vote labour in the next election as they have the most hope of doing at least some good in this country. Cameron and the tories will mess things up a treat, and the Lib Dems are too confused as to what they believe in these days. I don't neccessarily agree with the majority of Labour's politics but its the best of a bad bunch in my opinion.

In international politics, I believe we live in a Realist international system, but that we shouldn't surrender to that and should still strive towards multilateral organisations such as the UN.

As for this list thats knocking around...

I am pro-homosexual rights (you can't be anti or pro homosexuality itself, its a fact!

I am pro-abortion

I am pro-Seperation of Church & State.

I am anti-Afghanistan War.
I am anti-Iraq War.
BUT pro-finishing the job rather than pulling out and cutting our losses.

I am pro-Immigration.
I am pro-Illegal Immigration.
to the extent that I am PRO-open borders. People should really be able to go where they like.

I am pro-Higher Minimum Wage.

I am pro-Many Social Programs.

I am pro-National Healthcare System.

I am anti-Nuclear Power.

I am anti-Nuclear Weapons

I am annti-Giving Public Funding to Non-Public Schools.

I am anti-Giving Money to Private Broadcasting Companies.

As for the US politicians, I won't comment here.

I am pro-Most Stem Cell Research.

I'm liberal left. Voted for Lib Dems, the Liberal Party and the Green Party

I believe strongly in the communal ownership of land and natural resources. I also believe that public services - transport, healthcare, etc. should be owned and run by the state.

"The state" should be elected, with every vote counting (proportional representation sort of thing).

All manufacturing and retail should be free market.

I also believe that each individual has the right to do whatever they want provided it harms no others - take drugs, get fat, smoke, gamble their money away, watch porn ... if that's what they want to do, fine. Provided the state provides some support to help them stop doing whatever it is, everything's fair game.

Poltical compass:
economic: -6.50
social: -7.74

Makes Mandela & The Dalai Lama look like right wing loonies ;)

Going off that list

I am pro-all human rights, be they sexual preference or anything else
I am pro-abortion
I am pro-Seperation of Church & State.
I am anti-Afghanistan War.
I am anti-Iraq War.
I am pro-Immigration.
I am anti-Illegal Immigration - but do think the immigration laws should be far more open than they are at the moment
I am pro-Higher Minimum Wage.
I am pro-Many Social Programs.
I am pro-National Healthcare System.
I am pro-Nuclear Power.
I am anti-Nuclear Weapons
I am anti all non-Public Schools.
I am pro-Giving Money to Private Broadcasting Companies in certain circumstances
I am pro-giving money to public broadcasting companies
I am pro-all Stem Cell Research.

Communal ownership of land and resources but a free market economy? Thoguth you'd have been more along the lines of state-owned looking at the rest of your views...

Nah, only reason for communal ownership of land and resources is to be able to sensibly regulate their usage for the long term benefit of the people. You need to encourage invention (free market), but to keep a stable environment for future generations innit.

Well, I believe in the soul, the #cough#, the #ahem#, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. Goodnight.

If you mean Genetically modified Organisms, I strongly support this research, and I feel it is a possible solution to the problems facing third world farmers/climate change. Although I'm probably the only one in my field (Environmental) :)

Yes. Islay whiskys are awfully nice. btw - are you from Larkhall (in Lanarkshire)? My ex-flatmate was from there ...

GMO's ... depends. Provided it doesn't harm the natural environment, no problem. Otherwise - case by case, but usually against 'em.
