We will start approx. 2 games per week, i.e. in 5 weeks all games will be ongoing for the first round. We will enter the results in the respective group table, as soon as matches are finished. It is irrelevant, if the first game will end first or last.

However there may be games lasting too long as you mentioned. An alternative maybe to have a maximum number of rounds (must be high enough, like 60) defined. If this is exceeded, those who are still alive can share rest of the points for that game. We can discuss this issue further and make a poll after the current poll is finished.

Like the no cards - think no cards with the world 2.0 map will be a long event.

Suggestion: Offer the games a surrender option - meaning I can surrender so the tournament can move on but we still need to finish out the game.

How many weeks do you project this tournament to take?

Count me in............

But I do tend agree with the other comments regarding 'no card games'

I think a 250 player tournament and the no cards option will take a long time.

It does not bother me really, but it may put off quite a few others especially if they do not have prem.
mbohn2: f*ck you steve....now try and defend yourself against pink

How did you manage to have exactly 2000 points?

Highly probable, we will replace World 2.0 map (after a poll)

I think 10 weeks will be needed for each round (to finish group matches, in total 10 matches). If three rounds 30 weeks. We can shorten it a few weeks, if we start 3 or 4 matches per week (or all 10 matches can start at the same time)

I'm not so sure with a surrender option. You will continue the game anyway to finish it. So, whats the use of it? It won't shorten game time and may cause speculations between players. As I suggested in one of my posts, a maximum limit of game rounds may be a solution.

The tournament does not have 250 players, but 24 only, and those in 4 groups. Only players who are on the TOP 250 list are allowed to enter the league.

Those who are not premium are strongly recommended not to enter the league, since they cannot play 10 games simultaneously.l

I have a suggestion.

What if you broke the tournament into 2 brackets: no cards and escalating? That way everyone gets what they want. Then when you have the final three people from each bracket, those six players play the final ten-game round on five maps as half-no cards, half-escalating, with each map being used for each type.

Just a thought, might be fun.

I chose no cards/chained combination for this tournament in order to make it harder and to bring the luck factor to minimum (although you can never get rid of it completely). We have already 21 eligible players. Therefore we will have 4 groups/24 players in total. I don't want more than 24 players. That's the maximum I can manage.

I plan to organize another league, which will consist of all type of games (no cards, flat rate and escalating in combination with unlimited, chained and adjacent fortifications). The structure will be similar, but with a variety of games. I think that league will satisfy you completely. :)

Fair enough. I'm still gonna play this one, but now I've also got something to look forward to. :D

exactly 2000 points - Master planning, tactical skill, proper alignment of the moons and a bunch of noobs who attack the highest ranked person in a game - LOL

I'm in. I'm not a wizard at no cards, but I like the idea of the no cards tourney.

dbz

But I also agree about ditching World 2.0 if it's no cards.

Points for each match:
1st: 10 points
2nd: 6 points
3rd: 2 points
4th: 0 points
5th: -2 points
6th: -4 points

I assume you put this to encourage players to take someone out like in terminator games. In some manner it will help to quicken the games but on the other hand we'll meet some ugly strategies in to stay alive.
Why not play terminator instead of standart?

we might be better off with terminator, if only to prevent the protracted glomming of armies one often sees in no cards... those tend to slow the game down a bit.

I don't know, what kind of strategies will take place in the games. We will see it.
The idea behind the point system was: At every stage of a game all players will have a target, since they will be able to minimize their losses or to maximize their wins. Since we will play a league and every point will be important, players won't loose their interest in the game until the end of the game.
Regarding to terminator option: That's a possibility, but I declared the rules for the league at the beginning and 24 players joined. I can't change the format of the league at this stage.
