i can't rearly read the font
your army shadows aren't round

don't do the bridge now, you can do that better after you have the names and shadows

I can always change the font.. I just need to find one thats easy to read, yet small..

The army shadows will be fixed.. somehow.. right now, they were more of a way for me to see if they fit..

and the bridge I have is temporary at this point..

I will do what I usually do when I see an idea getting almost no support in very early stages, and the main project is still very bad: I will suggest you to look for another idea.

Territories are small, most area of the image is unplayable, names will make areas crowdy, the shadows are very small... no way to work with this image. You would need, at least, restart. As the poll shows a great rejection, I will suggest you to stop.

It seemed like it was inevitably heading in that direction[failure] from the begining.. I figured i'd likely abandon the map for these reasons; however, I still think I can put a little work into it and hopefully change that.. if not.. well, i'll just have to stop, maybe look for another project.

My advice is zoom right in on the territories you had to begin with and work with that... Add in some ports which can attack eachother to break up the linear features...

I've been toying with making a map where the sea is also a major feature, so maybe you could make some naval territories as there's bound to be a lot of coast.

The 13 colonies concept was an interesting one, but the historic map doesn't lend itself to good game play... by extending the map into the midwest you have a better map, but you've abandoned the concept.

This may mean you completely rework the idea, but what about making this a european new world expansion map? Include all of Florida and some islands like hispaniola and cuba? On the right edge of the map you could even have attack routes from spain to the islands, england to the colonies, and france to canada?

I think you should add some water routes to attack the other colonies by water.

Well.. This is where my problem lies.. a concept, preferable involvng or focusing on my primary idea--the thirteen original colonies.. Problem is, the thirteen colonies isn't particularly good for gameplay.. while the expanded version strays far from the original idea, and at the same time doesn't encompass the full area that it should[all of florida and such]..
Maybe my concern with size is largely influencing my reluctance to greatly expand the area of the map..

So I need to decide.. do I want to use my original idea, the current one, one encompassing the majority of the colonial new world, scrap the idea and find a new one[or just give up completely  ]..

Of course, I don't know what I will do at this point..
