I wish everyone would try this, the evidence always shows that the dice are fair. Maybe that should be the next thing lack adds is a built in dice analyser so that everyone can see that their dice are the same.

So do I most of the time! I don't risk things so much in team games (which I play mostly now) but in single player something like 6 vs 7 or 8 i'll take. Usually seems to go through okay.

if you've never seen this in a real game, then you can't talk. I"ve seen someone roll at least 1 6 in every attck the entire game.

I paid for premium deluxe which always knocks my opponents dice down 1. I'd still be a corporal if I hadn't forked over the extra cash.

Too expensive in my opinion and it slows down my turns.

There seems to be a weird streak going around lately. in the last few days my Dice Analyzer's shown I've gone from 37/33/29 W/T/L, which is normal, to 34/31/34. Granted, it's only a few points, but concentrate that in the last 24 hours and that can seriously destroy a few games (which it has).

I do believe the dice hover around the correct odds for the most part, but the way they equal out seems a little bit too streaky to be considered natural variation.

Whatever, I'll just wait til I get a good streak again.

I've been on the site almost 4 years, and in my opinion the dice have been consistent the entire time. It really is true that people dwell on the bad rolls. Different maps, number of players, etc. can really make things seem worse than they are as well. Playing a 1v1 doodle speed, a few bad rolls and you're all pissed off cause it cost you the game. But on a world 2.1, you get crappy dice in one spot, and then in a different continent mop up when you really shouldn't. I'm fine with the dice.

Oh, everyone knows that that's true in the long run, its just the per game basis that pisses people off...

wins/ties/losses percentage

actual stats
12.5 / 37.5 / 50

ideal stats
37.17 / 33.58 / 29.26

This was my first game with that analyzer. Of course other games were better, but what if....

I had 4 games that were slightly above ideal, but 1 game that was way below. They added up to ideal stats, BUT, while it was conceivable that the games that were close to ideal could be lost on merit or even particular crucial roles during those games, most likely the game that had lower than standard dice was lost.

Everything adds up to hunkey dory but shit is also fucked...

What if I cursed you so that your dice were always statistically standard in the long run but EVERY CRUCIAL ROLL for a bonus, a break, ect, was fucked. How do you think you would fair then?

Attacker dice distribution Defender dice distribution
1s 1264 / 7940 (15.92%) 720 / 4202 (17.13%)
2s 1403 / 7940 (17.67%) 719 / 4202(17.11%)
3s 1327 / 7940 (16.71%) 659 / 4202 (15.68%)
4s 1312 / 7940 (16.52%) 687 / 4202 (16.35%)
5s 1317 / 7940 (16.59%) 716 / 4202 (17.04%)
6s 1317 / 7940 (16.59%) 701 / 4202 (16.68%)

Battle Outcomes Actual Stats Ideal Stats
3v2 482 / 485 / 382 (35.73% / 35.95% / 28.32%) (37.17% / 33.58% / 29.26%)
3v1 778 / 363 (68.19% / 31.81%) (65.97% / 34.03%)
2v2 8 / 18 / 19 (17.78% / 40% / 42.22%) (22.76% / 32.41% / 44.83%)
2v1 70 / 62 (53.03% / 46.97%) (57.87% / 42.13%)
1v2 7 / 18 (28% / 72%) (25.46% / 74.54%)
1v1 43 / 48 (47.25% / 52.75%) (41.67% / 58.33%)

Overall stats
Attacker threw 7940 dice.
Defender threw 4202 dice.

Seems pretty even to me. I think nearly 12000 total dice should give a pretty good idea of the trends.
As for the battle outcomes you need to realize that other than 3v2 and 3v2 the sample sizes aren't very large.

Kudo's for you Arbotross, you've proved the obvious. That the dice trend toward theory in the infinite. yay.

What is a far more interesting question is how much do these dice vary in the short? And is this variation equivalent to what normal dice do?

I can make a engine that has wildly fluctuation dice for the short term that would normally constitute the # of rolls in a game, but still be approaching the ideal as soon as 1000 rolls longterm. You would be crying like a little girl and popping zanax if I switched said engine with the one you use now, and left everyone else's alone.

the dice analyzer would look normal after just a couple games, everyone would poo poo your cries for help, and we'd find you snorting crank off of $5 hookers in 2 weeks. ;)

Anyway, what i'm saying is MAYBE there could be aspects of the dice that are giving people seizures, besides the long term distributions (which have been proven ad nauseum). And again maybe not, but it's fun to think about when you get dicefucked repeatedly. lol

I just clicked your wiki link.

Ha! I didn't use it incorrectly. I just spelled it wrong with a errant apostrophe. :P

Misspelling counts as incorrect use. Furthermore, the positioning of the apostrophe implies either 1) that the word is either an abbreviation for "Kudo is" in which case you would be saying "Kudo is for you Arbotross" which is an incorrect use, or 2) that you are using a possessive suffix with the noun Kudo, which would imply that you wish something that "Kudo" owns for Arbotross, which again is incorrect use.
