it'd be nice if we had more of a hint of the outline of poland. this is aesthetic and unnecessary for gameplay, so ignore if u think it'll be confusing.

I am not sure if that was asked before.

But why not use the real geographical names instead of numbers and abbreviations?

1. A player would not have an understanding where the battles have happened.
2. A player could learn some geography while at it...

But graphically the map looks really pleasant. Great job.

Sorry for the delay of an update to this. Rest assured i am eager to get it done. I've asked the.killing.44 to be my XML partner for this map and he is currently writing it. Once i get my Photoshop back up and running again there will be an update ;)

Also i wanted some thoughts on the P.A.F. whether it would be better to make it a killer neutral. Where the P.A.F. would reset to 6 neutrals each round. Similar to the Parade Deck in the Citadel?

I will see what i can do on all the suggestions.

AndrewB, i'd rather keep it the way it is, as i doubt the real names would fit in some areas ;)

Since the PAF can't actually attack out, it would be impossible to get your troops out of there at the end of your turn. So anything you leave there you lose. This has been the case with the Sea Power in Eastern Hemisphere, and it has annoyed some.

As a killer neutral it would render the +5 bonus moot (since it would be impossible to hold). If you are concerned that it is currently too powerful - and it is a concern that I would share - I'd say just get rid of that fat bonus. It's already quite powerful as the only space that can clobber the generals, so lose the bonus. Or even make it bleed territories - lose one army/round.

I can't remember how many neutrals start there, but I hope it's pretty high - this could be a game changer really early on.

It can attack out to the generals, but yes you're right it would render the +5 bonus useless. However i like you're other suggestion about losing 1 troop per round.

Samuel, "Nazi Germany" sounds like something a kid who has been watching Discovery Channel would call it. In the real terminology it is either Germany, or the Third Reich. You don't call the Soviet Union "Commie Russia" on the map, right?

Occupation of Poland During WWII

Read the above article and you will see that the 2 countries are referred to as "Nazi Germany" and "Soviet Union".

Wikipedia wrote:This article deals with the occupation of Poland by Germany and the Soviet Union during the Second World War (1939–1945). In the beginning of the war (September, 1939) the territory of Poland was divided between the Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union (USSR). In summer-autumn 1941 the territories annexed by the Soviets were overrun by Nazi Germany in the course of the initially successful German attack on the USSR. After several years of fighting, the Red Army was able to repel the invaders and drive the Nazi forces out of the USSR and the rest of Eastern Europe.

Hardly something a kid would say ;)

You use Wikipedia as your source for correct terminology?

"Nazi" is a slur like "commie." It is not the correct term. I am surprised you don't know this. Of course you'll find that slur at Wikipedia, used as if it were the real term. Yet another reason why most teachers worth their salt will not accept Wikipedia as a source in a school paper - it is so full of inaccuracies it's ridiculous. I have to repeat myself: the official name for Germany 1933-1945 was Germany. We should use real names. The name Third Reich was also used by the German government itself, and accepted among other nations.

I am of that old academic school where factual correctness matters. Criticizing Third Reich Germany in text and speech, sure. Writing the name wrong in any form of print, no. Let's not dumb down things more than is already the case. There is a point in going that little extra mile to get things straight.

You learned something new? It comes from "Nazist" which is the real way of shortening the name "National Socialist." "Nazist" is widely in use in other languages. But English-speakers being what they are when it comes to language, even their own.... "wut," what an accurate illustration right there, thank you.

i better inform the discovery channel on this

as what you say is true
about where the word Nazi came from
this does not mean that refering to it as Nazi Germany is incorrect
due to the fact that it was not all of Germany doing this
ergo you could refer to it as the Third Reich instead of Nazi Germany
but is that really correct

if this is a problem as i don't really see it is (just a matter of semantics)
you could say Germany under a Nazi regime but really
and i mean really does it really matter

It's a token internet term from an widely-known image, thank you.

Ok i've decided to change it to just Germany without the Nazi in front of it. We won't be using the Third Reich however.

Also, This is not the school paper, and if wikipedia is inaccurate. That means every historical map on Conquer Club is also innacurate, because every map maker uses it at some point for borders, or to find out what happened in a particular battle. Half the people on here don't even know what the Third Reich is, having a reference to Germany, everyone knows what it is.

Thanks for commenting ;)

Want to beta test this! It's come a long way from when I saw it last, good job. =D>
P.S. Isn't the PAF symbol the red and white checkerboard?
Just checked wikipedia, and it's both! I personally really like the checkerboard, so perhaps it could be the background?

Has Sam decided whether to go for the decay on PAF - sounds good to me as it is a key region :D
