also, a 3D connection would have the rods coming towards us sticking out of the center of the vertices, instead of the bottom.

its hard to tell but if you look he has those connections youre talking about above the color border of the farther vertex and under that of the closer one

its NOT that hard to tell if you look at this threads page 1, post 1, where they both are (just scroll to compare).

I prefer it without the black borders. It seems simpler and clearer without.

Latest Version 21 (Big):
Changed black borders to shadows on rods.
Darkened the background slightly.

Sheesh, don't you know? You should do something more conventional, like a take on some existing game, or a random country/region/continent. What the hell are you thinking, trying to get a map through that's not based on some obscure historical battle? My god, this unconventionality must be crushed; failing that, ignored.

Just provide historical proof that a battle in WW2 was fought on a cube, and you'll get your stamps.

why not lable the territories as geometric points?

ex:

A4w= (1,1,1)

and

B2x= (2,3,2)

I see 2 possabilities for this map:
1) it's to complex, and will be hated by the majority of CC
or
2)It's the first in a whole new generation of risk, and the map maker will be haled as a visionary.

it's up to CC to decide, personaly, I like choice 2

Think Crossword, just in 3D. I actually like Crossword, so I like this map. And the bonuses are very even (a la Chinese Checkers), which I also like. So thumbs-up for this happening.

Thank you guys for your replies. I just wish some of the stamp holders replied as well, or...

I'm (sadly) beginning to wonder if Ditocoaf have a point.

just checked my mails. noticed that:
Of three mails sent to coleman, about idea stamp, xml stamp, and just about the hypercube, ZERO (0) have been read.

my own mailbox was 100% full, so I hope that I have not missed any mails because of that. (it really should be some warning system when you reach 100%...)

Coleman is on a bit of a CC vacation, so he may not be checking his inbox.

I'm still concerned about the plan for the start, but since others seem certain it's achievable we can sort that out in the XML stage. I suspect there will be some graphics issues still to tackle - such the readability of the awful font in the legend - but I've got nothing else to add.

thank you oaktown for trusting this map with its first stamp.
Now I hope all other stamps will follow like little ducks in a row.

With the new rod colors, could someone please do/give a colorblind check/advice on the color positioning?

lol... nobody's saying anything because there's nothing else to do but stamp, and the mods aren't stamping because nobody's saying anything. I think I'll just daily post here how much I want to play this map. Maybe that will speed things up.

If they want anything more from you to get the other stamp, then they should say what. Although, I still think things were easiest to see in version 18, with the plain lines.

This map is not for the weak! :twisted:
No, but for real, why does it hurt? Any suggestions on what could be improved?

I concur. The second one is a bit easier to look at and doesn't have all those super sparkly stars all over the place.

This map takes some spacial visualization ability; and I don't think that can be helped. I'd just recommend getting sleep more frequently. :wink:
