Ah brings tears to your eyes everytime you hear it sung at Twickers, but to bring a balance (and not interrupting)

Rugby is one in four year women is once in WHEN EVER SHE FEELS LIKE IT.
Women / Rugby .... Women / Rugby
Screw the women lets watch the rugby, and live with the consequences.
Luckily my girl is passionate about rugby, unluckily she is passionate about Eng rugby so depending on the result it will be Screw the woman and watch the rugby, or PAY FOR FOUR YEARS.

I saw a sign on the telly that a guy had made before the SA Arg game. It read 'My marriage or the Rugby World Cup... I'll certainly miss her!'

SA defintiely has the best national anthem. Followed by Wales and Scotland. And the french have got a belter as well. England's is utter turd, isn't it? No wonder we sing an old amercian spiritual instead...

The problem with SA's Anthem is that it is three languages just to confuse everyone. Did anyone notice the Arg anthem... NOT to trash anyones anthem, but the music does go on for a long time before the words start.

Jamaicas anthem is about 5 minutes long...

And the funny thing is that many people only seem to know the Afrikaans and English parts.

An hour to go, guys... Getting tense...
I want score predictions now then:
I think England 13, South Africa 10... Johnny to make the decisive kick (of course) and a early try, which I'd love to be scored by Jason Robinson.
Whats the betting that whoever wins it'll be down to which of these guys plays a blinder:

Congratulations South Africa
You were the best team throughout the tournament and deserve to be World Champions. England didnt let us down though, tremendous effort to reach the final and we didnt really get the rub of the green tonight or things could have been mighty close.

We played a brilliant game all things considered, and the right team won in the end... We lost on the strength of their lineout and from silly penalties. I'm still so amazed and pleased we got this far in any case. I'm looking forward to next year to see what guys like Tait and Sacky can do with a younger squad.
Interestingly, Habana wasn't as much a feature as expected!

What a releif! Good game, this tournement will definatly go down in history as the greatest IMO. England played very well.

QFT... although obviously for us 2003 will take a lot of beating...
The third place game was a belter, and this one was a great match even though we lost.

I loved Martin Johnson desperately appearing to be unbiased when he clearly wanted to headbutt the wall and tear the eyes out of the 4th referee

Fantastic tournament - so many twists and turns.
1)Started off badly for me - Ireland had a shocker
2)Argentina prove their worth as a great side
3)Some of the other small nations do well (Fiji)
4)Most unpredictable QF ever! Aussies and NZ both go out!
5)Semi-finals not great, but I was still on the edge of my seat because it was so tense, EnglandvFrance anyway
6)England's turn around from being beaten by South Africa 36-0. As much as I dislike England, it was great to see how they got themselves back together.
But then what a shite final to finish with! South Africa played really boring rugby and England just weren't good enough. I was pleased that the best team won the World Cup but Habana never got the ball in hand running once! (and Pieterson neither). Bit of a let down really...

ha, thats what I had been trying to tell everyone last week! Its an amazing match when you see a team play well against this sort of English team. It was a hell of a good job by SA to hold England to two penalties in that match.
You know what I realised... I think, between world cups, England try to play the game in an interesting matter just like everyone else. It gets to the world cup, they realise they suck at playing quality rugby and turn it into this 'impossible to score against' kind of rugby that they are so naturally good at.
I guess SA were more impossible to score against in the end
Good thing is though, I didnt find the final boring at all.
Good stuff.
