V31 Update - Fonts bolded and names changes

This update I have:
* removed the names Cleopatra and Nefertitti and replaced them. Those two queens do not belong in this Valley and would make their own great maps another time in history
* some tomb section D names have been edited and bolded
* Signatures appear on the map for the first time

I'm really digging this now. Gameplay will be interesting to say the least.

I can't remember what I said about this before, so lets pretend it's new. I think Underworld Bonuses title might be better served to say Underworld Tokens. If you're going to say Underworld Tokens at the bottom, people are going to ask, "Well where the heck are these tokens?" Now, most people will know this, but it might better to treat everyone like they're three years old (no offense to any three year olds here) and show them exactly what the Tokens are.

It's just a thought though.

The Robber D kings don't have an outline around the face... whereas all the others do... that's the problem I mentioned earlier... but have now narrowed it down...

C.

PS 90% compression is better - no longer has corruption... PS yes LCD... no eyes - I suspect my eyes are older than yours!!!

Yeti_c...hi...in the above V31 i have changed all the face borders to the colour of the robbers...for section D that is light blue...does this work for you, or do you think all yellow would be better as an outline.

i'll have to C about the eyes...i feel mine would be older...and they wear glasses!

It's the inner border that is missing on Robber D's...

Ah I don't wear glasses!!! But I do stare at a PC all day everyday!!

Just looking at the legend, without reading the thread, I can't make heads nor tails of the bonuses. Do you get +2 for controlling just the token square, or do you need the token + the tombs + amente? Likewise, for the tomb bonuses, are they for controlling the tombs in that area, or the tombs plus the robbers, or what? I think the legend definitely needs improvement.

NICE

I think i understand your bonus but it is a little confusing .... otherwise the map is great... just clear up your legend ...

Since they all give the same bonus, maybe the underworld and afterlife bonus numbers can be put onto the bottom legend?

And, possibly change the Afterlife Bonus title on right to say Afterlife Token or Ankh.

What if i put into the instruction cartouche:

* Region = Tombs + Robber/s + Amente
* Underworld = Tombs + Robber/s + Amente + Underworld Token
* Afterlife = Tombs + Robber/s + Amente + Underworld Token + Ankh

And Tomb Bonus heading changes to REGION BONUS.

Would that make things clearer.

IS this any clearer?

I'm new to this map and the bonus explanation is confusing to me.

OK, after thinking about it, I would set up the cartouch something like this:

Regions
Tombs + Robber(s) + Amente <icon>
Tombs A + <icon> = 4
etc... (as it is now)
Underworlds
(2 Bonus)
Any Region + any of:
<line of Underworld tokens>
Afterlife
(3 Bonus)
Any Underworld + Ankh <icon>

And then remove all the text with Region=, Underworld=, Afterlife=; leaving only the scarab explanation there.

Edit: Cleaned up extraneous suggestions

I'm taking another look at your cartouche and I note some things. My previous suggestion of putting the Underworld tokens in a line doesn't give you space to name them, which is clearly part of the aesthetic.

I have reworked my suggestion:

center cartouche wrote:Kings with Scarabs <icon> border each other

Hold a Region and matching Underworld token for 2 Bonus
<line of Underworld icons>

Hold an Underworld and the Ankh <icon> for 3 Bonus

right-hand cartouche wrote:Regions
(Tombs + Robber(s) + Amente <icon>)
Tombs A + <icon> = 4
(<icon> Maat - Justice (+2))
Tombs B + <icon> = 4
(<icon> Pshent - Crown (+2))
Tombs C + <icon> = 3
(<icon> Leb - Heart (+2))
etc...
