agreed.
I was actually surprise that the map was soo much more balanced compared to the previous version. As to the need to remove the neutrals. i do not see why? unless someone is out there attacking the neutrals instead of the opposition it should in no way bother you at all... not with spoils anyways. non spoils might be slightly different, then it is the drop alone that makes the game.

I understand your concerns, it is very hard to get a limited edition map like this perfect to suit everyone, which is why there has been a few changes. I do receive many PM's like from people telling me how they want the map to be, so it's not just in the forum that people post their thoughts. I have decided since a number of people don't like so many neutrals but on the other hand a number of people do not like a lack of neutrals that i am going to meet everyone halfway. Have less neutrals than the original but still plenty, this way we can hopefully satisfy people at both ends of the spectrum.

This change will be in place for the next round of the tournament.

Hi all, I appreciate that we have had fun with the shifting sands of neutrals - but where is the tourney at?? I am confused as to whether round 1 is over or not ...

The preliminary stage has 5 rounds, we are almost finished with the 2nd set of games.

I think we're confusing terms. We are currently in the Preliminary Stage, which consists of 5 rounds. I believe round 1 is completely finished, but there may be a single game floating out there unfinished. I would have to check to verify that.

Maybe this will be one of those tournaments that goes on forever, until the originators get bored, or quit CC, and we're all left like a corner kick: hanging in the air. lol

The map isn't bad with 15 starting territories each. 20 is horrible but 15 is almost as good as 10 :)

I'm a little puzzled too ... I've played 6 games in my New Zealand group, and should expect to play 14 total if we play each team twice in our group? I reread the tourney description, and the Preliminary stage was set to be 5 rounds where we'd play each team in our group twice. I'm confused if that means we're playing 14 games per round, 5 rounds, which is 60 games? Or, if we should expect to play 14 games total over 5 rounds in the Preliminary.

Any help for the puzzled? :?:

The one player in my group I haven't played yet in the Prelim is LLLUUUKKKEEE.

Updated the standings. :) Only ekane, Silver-, jeraado, and jsoko.ri have made it through Round 2 without a loss. qwertylpc and johncusac still have a chance at remaining undefeated.

Round 3 of the Preliminary Stage should begin mid-late next week, or sooner if the remaining dozen or so games from round 2 finish before then. Otherwise next week it is.

I was 5-1 in the first 2 rounds & 1-2 in round 3. I blame the new map settings... :(
