Wait, I'm not a hundred percent on this, but is the pitcher's mound supposed to have a little white bar thingy on it, or is that optional?

I googled pitcher's mound, and it did show up on a lot of images. So here goes:

Anything else?

Cool. Let me see, now...

I'm wondering if the background/legend looks too plain, but I'm not sure what you'd put there.

Well you could put a couple of pictures as the background (really subdued of course) of say Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, etc. I think that would really fit in nicely.

Yes but are we allowed to use their images?

Here's an idea to zazz up all the legend pieces: Separate out the things in the corner with red baseball stitch borders, and give the corner background a texture like the surface of a baseball.

The pitcher's mound is too small. It's supposed to be at least the width of a base.

The legend is mildly zazzed, but the pitcher's mound still needs fixed.

Yeah, and baseballs aren't actually the size of players' heads, and pitchers aren't actually giant walking gloves, and OMG! WHAT'S UP WITH THAT FREAKISHLY GIANT BATTER!

What I meant by the stitch thing was something more to the tune of this:

[bigimg]http://i1011.photobucket.com/albums/af239/RASSyndrome/Baseball/BB_Stitch_Sample.png[/bigimg]

(The holes in the white surfaces just mean that the legend component should go over the white surface)

If you can get a kind of leathery look to the white surfaces, I think that could make for a fairly striking effect.
You might wish to not do it for the upper right corner since that's where the two home runs landed.

Ah, I see! Yes, I can see that could be a neat effect. And yeah, I think leaving out the upper right corner would be best.

I'll get on it...

1. Maybe make the outside text, minimap, and chart a bit smaller so they don't ride over the stitchy outline
2. Try a darker background for the map itself to contrast better with the white corners. Maybe something that's not a radial gradient, since the map has plenty of that going on everywhere.

Ok here's a background that's just a darker version of the previous

[bigimg]http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/3945/baseball8a.png[/bigimg]

And here's a linear version

[bigimg]http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/8498/baseball8b.png[/bigimg]

Which is better? I can't decide.

Both look good.

One little nitpick, Ball 5 should be where ball 8 is and then you can move ball 7 to where ball 5 is now and then you can put ball 8 to where ball 7 is. Does that make sense?

How about I just swap 5 and 6?

Of those two, I prefer the linear version.
