1. i'd ry and get that pinnacles layout into the right place on the map.
as has been pointed out to me many times, players prefer layouts where insets are not way off their proper locations. I'd redraw the map with the pinnacle in the center.
2. legion barracks portal needs to be moved so that there appears no advantage being right beside the pinnacle even though it is an air attack (sts)
3. your graphics are coming along nicely and will develop well.
4. start off with 4 neutrals and see where the siggestions go from there...you'll have plenty of adjusting to do to balance the map thereafter.
ok, thx cairnswk

Pinnacle 10 neutral
Portals 6 neutral
No mans land 4 neutrals or even make em killer 2 neutrals
Might be a good start.
thx for the input.
I have something thought kind of in the middle of you and hiddendragon, I am kind of close to same page, good to know.
That sounds good to me. You certainly don't want to make it too many....

Here's my suggestion (mostly based on the peloponnesian and feudal maps):

Love the idea of the killer neutrals (-1 or -2 decay ratio).

Just as clans change, rank changes. So should the neutrals, is it possible to have the neutrals assigned a random number between1-3, and they all start differently each game? Or have some of the neutrals of random strength, and some at fixed strength. Would really make playing in the fog fun, you get to a neutral and don't know whether another player has weakened it.

Can we get a poll on the position of No Mans Land/Pinnacle on the map... As Cairnswk suggested putting it in the middle, I have no problem doing that as cairns has made around 25% of the maps on CC and knows what he is talking about, but i kinda liked the offset of not putting it exactly in the middle of the map as it is shown in the corner of the map itself... can we have like a 1 day poll Blitz to see if people would want it moved to the center or kept how it is? (i am talking about the "mini me" version of NM land). Thanks. other then that i will make changes as i have seen people posting.

This would be an awesome idea. I wonder if that is even possible? I do like the killer neutral ideas too. This part of the game play will be decided by Blitz.

Cairnswk is giving you the benefit of experience, if I were you, I would take his advice. He is trying to save you grief later on in the process.

Yep... this is true and I already made the change before i seen this post

Cairnswk is one of my fav map makers for sure. And I will take his advice.

edit: actually looking at the map again, where exactly would the center be... the map is in a sideways L shape... it looks like NM land and Pinnacle are in the center of this map already... I will PM [player]cairnswk[/player] and see what he thinks...

Well, I like the color scheme first off.
But the gameplay I do not get in the slightest. I see a number of symbols and am having a very hard time deciding what they mean. You've got the room, make a key.
What does NM stand for?
How does one get to the Pinnicle? the Portals?
Also, I think I might lean more in favor of allowing the pinnacle to one way attack areas, kind of like WWII Poland.
And I'm having a hard time matching up the mini map and the large map... why does the mini map have portals?... Wait... Its a map inset, lol. You might want to label that. ok, I was taking the NM territories as bonus groupings for the whole map.
Anyway, labels and explanations is what this map lacks at this point. I'll keep an eye on it and post after the next version.

perfect comments, i am guessing this would be your first time looking at the map... It gives me an idea of what people would think looking at it for the first time, those who have followed know what is connecting and what the meaning of NM would be, I will start making adjustments according to what you said and make the Key a little bit more better. Thanks IH

I won't play it. T4C doesn't have a place on the map, its not worth playing.

all portals can attack other portals and go thru into others lands they cannot bombard.
the only bombard area would be if you captured pinnacle, there will not be an auto +4 for pinnacle, the enticing idea of maybe going for pinnacle would be that it is the only place on the map where you can bombard and it could bombard any and all clan homeland starting points only. This will allow more options for cc players to ponder and think over to add to some game strategy.
and once homelands or drop points are bombarded they would turn into neutral correct?
I was initially thinking this, however, I think I might lean more in favor of allowing the pinnacle to one way attack areas, kind of like WWII Poland as Industrial Helix mentioned, this is a great idea, if we go this way, then there would be no bombardments that would turn neutral.

I thought you said you already made the change?
There needs to be a clearer link between the pinnacle and the inset. There are portals on the inset but not on the map for example.
Better labeling, or moving the inset to the centre or drawing portals on the pinnacle would make it clearer.

Yes i did make a change but not what was wanted. I understood incorrectly.

can someone draw up something and show me what you mean by this chipv? I am not getting it, i am a very visual learner. I want to make the change, just not making the connection yet (which is my fault, im sure others are getting it). Could I just make a Label to make the connection between the inset? or are there other ways to do this?

1 more thing, i put all digi 888's in today for territories, it worked just fine for the 800x800 (tried loading it a few times, i don't know what the deal is, i will try to upload it again tomorrow hopefully). My question is do I have to put the 888's in a 600x600 too? if so im not sure they will fit in the smaller territories. Please let me know so i can try this when i get time

No Mans Land 1, 2, and 3 are portals and can all be attacked by each clans territory 8 (which are portals) and vice versa, all portals can attack any other portal anywhere on the map.

I agree with most of this for the set up for armies, however, I was leaning in favor of 9 for castles, 12 for pinnacle, 4 for all no mans lands, 6 for portals, 3 for all starting points with an auto deploy of +5 = (8) like you suggested, and all other lands 2.
seems fairly reasonable.
