so we come up with some further suggestions:
Most of them are small changes, they might be helpful to a "less expert eye" to understand correctly the map.
The car in the legend could be resized to stay into its dedicated frame, something like
Add the winner circle symbol next its text in the legend could help to clarify things
The track/segment thing could be really unclear for a fresh eye, specially because there's no (visual/text) explanation about what track segments or locations are.
Someone could think that the pit lane is a link between I1 and A1 or that there's a connection between I1 and crews...
Thanx
1) Possibly I will look at that, I didn't think that being larger caused any clarity issues but it could. 2) Agreed 3) I had one but removed it because of space concerns I will see if I can put in something to help. 4) Agreed I will look at making the pit lane looks disconnected from the track and maybe gray it out a bit.

Where Have I Been? ... Testing a prototype board game that I co-designed called Alien Overrun!

Lack of objectives... do you mean something like a "conquer the world" objective? or do you mean like "continents". The continent element is broken down into track segments as well as combination's of pit equipment. The overall objective is to "win the race" =)

I suspect that he's referring to a 'if you own one of each track segment and hold it for a turn, you win the game' type of objective. You don't have any objectives in the game, but you do have the large bonus for track segments, which I think is good enough. Not all maps need to have an objective and I think just having the +40 is the better idea for the map.
Nice to see you back Dolomite, I'm looking forward to playing this when it gets to Beta
Heading off to Cancun for my wedding/honeymoon ... I have been working on the graphics a bit but dont have anything to share just yet. Don;t give up hope on me I will have an update shortly after I return in a few weeks.

I hope you enjoy your time in Cancun and look forward to seeing the update once you return and finish the graphics. I've been lurking in the development thread for a number of months now and I'm looking forward to playing this map when it gets released
Changed the pit part of the track to be opaque. Made the car in the legend smaller. And I added a small track sample to track part of the legend although that may not be enough I will think about it. I am working on xml finally and should have something soon.
I don't know if it's just me, but the "Winner's Circle" (oh, by the way, you forgot the apostrophe there) on the small version sorta looks "flattened", I guess, on the left and bottom sides. The tire icons have the same issue on both versions. Also, the hat and the red ring in the legend don't match the colors on the map, and the hat in the legend on the small version looks rather blurry. And the C2-C3 barrier looks off, especially on the small version. Sorry about all the nitpicks...
It may just be me, but I think that there may be a slight irregularity in the winner's circle in the large version that has been made worse by the downsizing operation.
Had my computer in the pits temporarily but now its out and roaring around the track...Start Your Engines!!! I can work on this thing once again =)
Just got windows 7 installed fresh on a new 2tb hard drive. Upgraded the machine ram to 16g, the video card to a beefy overclocked gtx570 and photoshop from CS3 to CS5...

It would appear that development of this map has stalled. If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the Foundry Moderators will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system, after an update has been made.
Riskmaster101 and crazymilkshake5 have asked me if they can pick up this map and finish it. I am completely cool with that. I will be sending them a link to download the raw files for the Map. I look forward to seeing what they do with it.

Riskmaster101 and crazymilkshake5 have received permission to take over this map and are working on our first major update. Dolomite has been kind enough to give us permission but has yet to send us the original file so we are having slight trouble updating without that file. Anyway, we are looking at changing a few aspects and taking this map straight to the top!
this map is 2 years old. you're better off starting from scratch than trying to update this old one.
“In the beginning God said, the four-dimensional divergence of an antisymmetric, second rank tensor equals zero, and there was light, and it was good. And on the seventh day he rested.”- Michio Kaku
i mean for simply putting some finishing touches it's ok to get somebody else's work and tinker with it. but when it comes to major changes it's always easier to start from scratch than to try and alter somebody else's work.
of course having the old files can't hurt regardless if you want to start new or simply tweak the map. you can always get inspiration or even recycle some layers.
