As I'm noooowhere near the top of the charts, I made #2.

Thanks everyone who voted for me :)

Also thanks to everyone who provided criticism. I very well may continue on and try my hand in the foundry as a result of this competition :D

Congrats to the winner!!

I'm withdrawing from the Foundry, which obviously includes the competition.

:( Why would you abandon that Antarctica map? :(
But the real question remains — who made #3? :?

Your map (which I rated 70%) along with the one I voted for, entry #5 (80%), were by far my two favorite maps (none of the others got even above 40%). If we used a system like approval voting, I would have voted for both yours and #5.

As a Costa Rica citizen, i going to do a correction the capital of my contry is San Jose, is also a provinces as Alajuela. But if they are going to name a provinces San Jose is more important than Alajuela is very closed in the map, but is a diferent provinces.
Should be change.
I prefer map#4.

I need time away from this place - the bullshit that's being going on at this site for the past few months has overwhelmed me with its stench.
But the real question remains — who made #3? :?

Hey Guys,

I've been going over the voters in this poll and there have been some irregularities to say the least.

3 members have already been busted for multiple accounts and voting in this poll, and more may come soon. I need to dig a little deeper and consult with the CAs before any final decisions are made as to what to do with the votes and options.

Please bear with us a couple of days so we can get this sorted :)

I say we need a round 3 with or without multis casting votes.

The two maps are close and I think it is kind of bad to let one fall over a margin that small. If you eliminate the other maps, perhaps it will grow.

e_i_pi can obviously do what he wants and he should but he should also remember that 90+ people voted for his map in this round

I wish e_i_π would drop out. His entry was great.

Anyways, why would someone cheat? that completely ruins the competition.

And...done! (whew)

Congratulations to Igoasklucy are in order, as his map (entry #1) won the day with 130 votes.

Thanks and applause are also due to the mapmakers of the remaining maps: samuelc812, bryguy, and Knoc. All of the maps that I received for this competition were of high quality, and any would have been welcome additions to the site. =D>

IgoasklucyI is invited to start up a map thread in the Main Foundry - I think that given the fact that MrBenn has already Draft-stamped the original thread we can forgo the Drafting Room process. If Igoasklucy is interested in working with samuelc or others I will leave that to him to decide. Any concerns regarding graphics or gameplay can be discussed in that thread, and I will continue to follow the development of this map and finish up the code and coordinates when needed.

Discussion about suggested changes to the winning map entry should go in the new thread, so I will provide a link to the new map thread as soon as IgoasklucyI starts it up.

If you have additional concerns about the way this competition went down and how you would like to see us run future competitions, please voice them in this discussion thread.

#1 was my vote back in the first round because I felt that the colors made it feel the most tropical. I voted for it again.

I'm voting for #2 this time around... the use of color in the territory names is a nice twist, and I think that for a smallish map it uses space appropriately. But really, I think any of these maps will benefit from a bit of Foundry work and make excellent additions to the site.

How unfortunate. In my opinion we will now be settling for the third best map out of the original six entries. The two best maps have been removed now. *shakes head*
