Theoretically if Lack didn't upload two maps last week, this would have been out last Wednesday, and City Mogul Thursday

What does the uploading of maps last week have to do with it?

edbeard wrote:I just meant the whole two paths converging thing isn't a good way to do things

Oaktown had said there was a path problem (though I couldn't find out what exactly it was) and I was just saying if the way it looks isn't how they act, then you have a big problem. But, since apparently you can move around as long as there's some path between the two territories, it works. I don't like it because having to go from asharaitne almost all the way to the wall of ramesses II and then turning back to go to tamanya looks quite weird. Though, if you want all these paths, you probably have to do it the way you've done it.

Like I said, since the movements are apparently work so that you can move around as long as there's some path there, it's not a problem. I just think it's not a good way of representing the paths. If you didn't mean for the paths to work in that way, then you'd have a huge problem.

In the current XML Nobo-tamanya connects to neither Nobo-asharaitne nor Nobo-asharawa, so it seems that edbeard's comment above wasn't taken into account. The legend doesn't say that desert roads can only be used going straight ahead without turning at forks. Since this is not how it would be in real life (going from Nobo-asharawa to Nobo-tamanya would actually be quicker than to the Well of Ramesses II), I think it should be explained. (One can infer that it's meant like this because otherwise the road between Nobo-arba and Nobo-sitta would be redundant, but the map shouldn't rely on players drawing that sort of indirect conclusion.)

Is it me or is his name not on any of the Egypt maps? I looked for a while and I'm just not seeing it.

If you're looking for my name, it's written in that cartouche

A few thoughts, now I have had a chance to play it.

The 4th Cataract is currently not balanced (every 2 player game I have played has been determined by who takes that 1st turn). I suggest that it is either +1, or that it has more than 3 starting neutrals.

The 3rd cataract, with only 3 territories is IMHO only worth +2, not +3 (and conversely the top bonus should be +3)

The well is fine.

I thought that the main idea of enforcing starting positions was to avoid "silly" drops - yet in 2 seperate doubles games, one player has dropped the 3rd cataract. I'm still not certain either how the starting position are meant to work , or how they are set up for this map, but I hope this could be tweaked too??

Nobo bonus - this is almost as irrelevant as the objective in gazala, but no harm in that

Haven't finished a game yet and so far it seems interesting.

2nd and 3rd cataract are too close in color in my opinion.

Thanks for all your hard work on this.

Mesalina, this map has been out now for some time.
I think your non-luck is just something that happens to everyone once on a while, yes even to me. :(
And everyone has differing amounts of luck in their favour.
Do try some more games and see if this spouot of bad luck turns for you in your favour. Good luck!

Egypt: Nubia Glitch?

Post by jackal31 »

I am starting this in the Map Foundry because I dont know if this is a glitch or not. But in Game 9333872, it appears via BOB, Sai and Sumna are connecting. Visually, they arent even close.

Just needed some help before/if it gets moved.

Thanks.

They are, in fact, connected. The connection is a little harder to see than the others, though:
