I agree on everything Hjelp what you say but Loose is just a bit of bad blood that's all.

DDS: could be town but he is omni present while he stated he was away busy working 24/7 almost.

Ok I need to think too because lynching a cop would be a big thing but not necessarily terminal.
Also I'd have called someone else out for linking 2 possible mafia this early in the game, and I did just that with halrob and extreme. I am suspicious of extreme though.

This is where my head is at with halrob.
He's fully engaged in game now which is normally a town indicator for me, and his engagement contributes to the game for all of us so more reason for him not to be lynched D1.

I think his claim, should be taken with utmost caution though.

Town knows nothing about the set up save out own roles.
That doesn't mean mafia knows nothing about the game set up though.
It could be they know a lot about the game set up and this might for example balance say 3 mafia Vs 10 town.
My game (the previous one) was set up cop heavy - this could have given Charle the idea of a fun game that is cop light.
I don't necessarily think we should assume there is any cop at all.

I also wonder about halrobs appeal to max in particular.
I think Max likes in particular the cluedo type aspect of role heavy games, so a mafia buddy of halrob, might also have that opinion of max and so suggested to halrob to angle his build up to his claim so as to appeal to max.

It probably is less risky to not lynch halrob than it is to lynch him D1.
I'm particularly uneasy about halrobs slow breadcrumbing disclosure though.

I am thinking that absence of a counterclaim does not equate to town halrob.

Also an early cop claim, even if counterclaimed puts mafia in a better position than a D1 lynched mafia.

I do need to think more.

If indeed you are town cop, and there's nothing indicating that you aren't at this point in that there's no counterclaim, it will be possible to play "follow the cop", which is a strategy where a protective role guards you at night so that you can investigate whoever you find the scummiest. It's important, however, that you don't say whom you'll investigate in case scum fiddles with it (various scum roles can do that). The next day, you claim your result. If you have a guilty verdict, we lynch that person after having done whatever needs to be done besides lynching scum that day, and if you have an innocent verdict, you have another town member you can trust.

I've actually never playeds follow the cop, so I don't have any experience with it. Anyone?

@Hjelp - We've never played with one another, but I've been an advocate for no lynch D1 for a very long time. I think I've broken that rule of mine maybe once or twice, like 8 years ago.

Pocketing as a term is mostly used as describing a mafia appealing to someone trying to get townread by that person. You posting the same thoughts I had but in slightly different form makes me townread you, because I had a similar process myself. But you are also a good enough player that in theory you could post it exactly because I had already voiced similar sentiments, to make me townread you.

I'm not exactly buying the cop claim but I'll wait to see if someone counterclaims.

Follow the cop - dont think I've played it in the traditional sense but I dont like the strategy as either alignment because it dumbs the game down a lot. It's a good strategy as far as I know.

Yes that is DDS his play. And i agree "in concept" on the no lynch policy D1. But i do not agree on ending D1 fast. The search and D1 activity may be very usefull later in the game. We have to make the most out of every day. And while i agree "in concept" to a no lynch policy D1 that does not mean a D1 lynch should / could never happen. Because if so, there would be 0 pressure D1.

Halrob could have been a real D1 lynch. But with a cop claim that would be so stupid to do.

Kong as far as I have seen from previous games has many attributes but haven't yet seen him as a game to game gamestyle discrepancy D1 type of solver for town.

No i really think i have Hallrob figured out. Waiting on Chekov. And Kong. If they see it the same way i do and wanna play along.

So while im waiting on that cryptic reply i threw a little bone towards DDS. It never hurts to throw a stone in a pond and see if some under water lurking creature moves. But DDS is not biting..clever boy Well, it sure was worth the try.
