The wheels are about to come off. Georgia just lost to Arkansas and will also lose to Florida in the Finals of the San Fran Classic.

Arkansas has started horribly but is over .500 against top 25 teams including taking out the last unbeaten. Arkansas hopes to rebound in conference play on its home court.

Standings and top-20 rankings are updated ... Kansas State remains the No. 1 team, while Pittsburgh has soared up the rankings to the No. 2 spot.

I played two rounds and won both 2-1. My second round match was against Syracuse. Am I missing something?

you won 2 of 3 maps, but lost by a point in the scoring breakdown, so Syracuse advanced to the title game.

I was going to start an argument, but I won't bother. This is basically a system that favours someone who gets lucky and finishes a game quickly, even though they lose the other two. It doesn't even come into play often enough to be justified. And yes, I was aware of the system before joining, I just didn't think it would have such an effect that I would be prevented from getting to a mini-tournament final even though I won my set 2-1.
Apart from that I am enjoying the tournament, and I'm very glad the map and settings I use ensure nearly all games finish after a similar amount of rounds. Since I've won all my home sets 3-0 it's not been a problem, however I did just lose a game so I only won 2-1, but thanks to the settings they all finished within a round or two of each other.

It's a whole other way of playing... like running down the clock to ensure your win. I like it.

I can see how it can be frustrating to win 2 of 3 and lose the matchup, but yes, TC nailed my intention which is to bring another element of strategy into the game play.

Just a heads up that I've started a new tournament to follow the Major League Soccer season...it follows a similar scoring format as College Hoops...here's a link...

nope...that's just a CC courtesy.
I find some players aren't aware of that notion, and it's simply too hard to enforce tournament-wide, especially in a tourney of this size.

Standings are updated along with a fresh top-20 that has Brown coming out on top for the first time this season in a tight battle among the top three teams.
I'm on vacation the next few days, so take some time to catch up on games and I'll get the Game 19 set out late Wednesday night.
