The quote is getting too big.
john: Are you saying that I should split that whole area into just two territories, and name the top one Yukon and the bottom one Prairies?

Why would we go through the trouble of making hovercrafts that could only travel across water?

Okay then, personaly I think the vertical text is cool and unique. Keep it. The bonuses are fine and should be set in stone. For the Canada problem, cut off a chunk of Quebec and name it Nunavut. Happy now?

Okay whatever. I think that the bonus for Asia should be in line with Africa and North America. Just my opinion.

You realize the earth in the Dark Ages was much hotter than it is now - the time when Greenland was green, and they grew vineyards in Britain - and that the polar caps are actually increasing in size today, despite the propaganda you are fed by those who use pollution as a propaganda tool to make Westerners feel ashamed of technology?

You realize that in the 70s and 80s, the leftist propaganda machine was warning of the effects of global cooling? Pollution was supposed to cover the earth and shut out the sun, etc. In a course of three years in the 80s, that crowd changed their tune from cooling to warming, without missing a beat or apologizing for their earlier propaganda.

You realize that before that, there was the global-acid-rain scare (which is why you see constant acid rain in the movie Bladerunner), and before that we were supposed to run out of metals in the 70s, and then there is of course the idea that oil would be made up of fossils (yeah, right) instead of being a primordial goo pushed up from the earth core.

You realize that despite the deception, such as crying "disaster" every time there is a flood somewhere (apparently there were no floods, earthguakes, or tornadoes before the most recent decades) there is absolutely no proof of this "global warming"? And that the few degrees of increasing temperature, which actually was higher during the Depression when world use of fossil fuel fell dramatically, is easily explained by the ever-changing sun? Like it has been throughout world history?

But of course, the media owners and the State have made up their mind, with their latest propaganda tool. So any college-employee who knows what is best for him better nod and say amen, or his career is out the window, along with his research grants. And abracadabra, you have "hundreds of scientists agree that..." You never hear about the dissenters to the prevailing orthodoxy, of course.

There have been warming and cooling periods in the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the 1800s, the Antique era ... and of course, there is such a thing as ice ages, that come and go. Because of fossil fuels, no doubt.

Propaganda is a bad idea for a map. Scrap it.

Wait, what? From what I've read Greenland was never green. It was named that by the Viking explorers who wanted their folk to get out of small Scandinavia and explore the world - because of the flat bottom design of Viking ships, people in there were very prone to seasickness, so they named a frozen island they'd found "Greenland" as misleading advertising.

Was that a fairy tale?

Anyway, even if global warming isn't true, that doesn't matter, 'cause the map is awesome. Myself, I lean towards the Futurama theory: global warming does happen, but nuclear winter cancels it out. (Except I think it'll be a new ice age instead. Oh well.)

Like The Random One said, this map isn't supposed to support anything or influence anyone. It's just meant to be fun.

Let's do a Nuclear Winter map next, in which the seas are ice-covered territories, but if you have more than one army in them at any time the ice cracks and they all die.

In unrelated news, I really like this map.
