After an encouraging win over Kansas, Georgetown was blown out by Charlotte in the semi finals of the Maui invitational. "Very disappointing loss. Our shots just were not falling and they couldn't miss. Everything went there way", said coach Benzor. The 1-1 Hoyas will face the Central Florida Golden Knights next in Orlando.

Kansas 81-65 (1-0)

Agreed, this is always one of the most in-depth tournaments run and is worth the wait.
And not that I would want to rush or overwork you, but did you have a timespan in time that you would update the "rankings"? I know there arent a ton of results in yet and things are still up-and-down, so just wondering once things get settled a little more. Thanks again Flex.

this is to inform you that i won game # 10158620 against easy n dirty. the other two games are on-going..
i noticed that my last turn in all 3 games failed to appear on the log of the game although the log in this game did reflect that the game was over and the stats log in the other 2 games did reflect the increase in the number of men i am suppose to get on my next turn.
i am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

Hey musical, not sure if you are talking about our games but I can't get in to play them. Sits at processing log forever...

I'm not sure how much this effects the tournament.
It is still clear who won the game, and all turn orders and points ran correctly. It is simply that the log database overfilled, and no more entries could be added, so the gamelog didn't track those turns. As I understand, the gamelogs are FUBAR for the games in which a player took a turn during the logjam.
As for the processing log error, that is a BOB error related to the same issue. BOB can't read the logs (because they don't exist) so it can't run properly. Simply turn off BOB for the effected games and you can still play your turns. Actually, if there is ever an issue with playing turns, this should be your first step.

Due to a blown call that lead to a turn over in the final 10 secs of the game. Columbia was up by 1 pt and had to give up possession to Wichita State. With a desperation half court shot at the buzzer.. Whichita State upsets the ranked Columbia Lions by 2 points..

The UCLA Bruins recovered from their first round loss in the Maui Invitational to trounce Kansas 93-56, setting the pace throughout the game.
Back home the Bruins fended off Loyola Marymount. The team started sluggish and were behind heading into halftime, but finished the game with a 31 point binge to finish the game 81-67.
The team then headed to #1 ranked Georgia Tech and were shelled by the Yellow Jackets' perimeter shooters early and often. Though few expected the Bruins to upset the top ranked Jackets, the team was disappointed in their play. Coach Limbo admitted "We were lost out there. We weren't prepared. We didn't have the right gameplan to face a team like that and that's my fault. That's my responsibility."
They'll head to Yale next for what promises to be another challenging matchup.

the first batch of standings is up...but I've only really had a chance to look completely through the Game 1 and 2 set so far...hoping to get up to speed by the end of the weekend and I'll repost. Also a few glitches on some of the ACC scoring and some of the league "games behind" which I'll iron out as well before the next post.
During the season...these standings will be updated every couple days with the most recent batches of game results posted underneath. Past results will be available in archived links underneath that.

So far the Big-10 is the league with bragging rites, posting a 16-8 record in nonleague action, while the Mountain West is also faring well with a large collection of upset, going 5-1 vs. top-40 foes.

flexmaster33 wrote:• Teams get 2 bonus points for winning 2 of 3 maps and a 3-point bonus for sweeping all three. Scoring example…
Team A wins in 7 rounds (30-18)
Team A wins in 10 rounds (29-20)
Team A loses in 12 rounds (21-28)
Team A gets 2-point bonus
FINAL SCORE: Team A wins 82-66
Just want a clarification here. According to the first line of the quote, there is a 3-point bonus for winning all three games. I only got a 2-point bonus in my Game 2 (Northwestern vs. LSU), though I won all three games. In my case it's not a big issue, but I'm sure it could be at some point.

Looking at the math again, I suppose it won't matter.

Figured I'd point it out, though.

I updated the rules to say it's a 2-point bonus for winning the majority of maps whether that is 2 of 3 or all 3...just makes it easier for me when scoring this many games. Meant to make that change before the season, but didn't catch it. Thanks for pointing it out.

After losing its first 3 games of the year, Vermont finally etched its name in the victory column with an impressive home win versus #18 Tennessee. Coach Ricrem noted that it was some stingy defense and some friendly bounces from the home rims (dice) that really sparked UVM to the victory. "It was a real big win for us, with all of these tough road games we've been playing" Ricrem explained, "I'd say we're one of the more battle tested teams so far this season with that neutral site tourney, then a game at #3 Butler, and now more road games. I think my boys have almost forgotten what it feels like to sleep in their own beds, or you know, go to class..."
