[player]co-co[/player] has won the first World Cup Final and has captured the Cup for Africa, and
thus the first edition of the World Cup of Risk has ended! Congratulations to all 6 finalists for achieving such great success in reaching the final table after a total of 221 fiercely competitive games. Even making it out of the divisions was a respectable accomplishment, as only 40% of players advanced from the group stage.
To conclude the tournament, I'd like to say:
- Thank you, thank you, and did I mention Thank You to everyone who joined this tournament. You made this event possible.
- I am planning to run this tournament again as the 2011 World Cup of Risk. Over the off-season I'll be adressing any issues that come to my attention and be reviewing the format. Obviously, the standings were not on page 1, I know it may have become an issue trying to find them. I'll make sure they're on the first page next year.

Signups are set to begin on July 14, 2011. Everyone is welcome to join, the restrictions will probably be very loose. I may slightly expand the tournament (adding maps as they are made over the off-season, and slightly tweaking the tourney format), but the overall theme shall remain the same. We'll see if I get the same attendance given it won't be a Football World Cup year.
- If you'd like me to remind you about the Cup next year so that you can join quickly and get into the division that you want, tell me in a private message and I'll add you to my list of Long-Term World Cup Members.
- Any suggestions for the tournament are welcomed as always.
So, I hope that you enjoyed this experience and I hope that you will consider joining again in the future. Who knows; maybe the Cup will belong to you next year...
