sorry, a government minister technically not classified as within the cabinet; I'm not sure that matters in the grand scheme of things - it certainly didn't to the vast unwashed masses of Britons flashing the Roman salute at his Nazi parades :P

Not really, most of the English people in this thread have said they dont hate Americans. And this thread was started by an American.

In fact the only grudge (or one of) is held by you against the british.

Please don't make the choice to confuse important and relevant issues about Britain's racist global war crimes regime with having a "grudge." The only country I have a "grudge" against is Dutchland.

Besides, I'm not American. I hold myself to higher standards. (LOL - only kidding on the last sentence, gang! Old Tom II put me up to it!)

Thanks for the advice, i will make sure i dont confuse that.

Luckily my previous comment was not made in confusion. Your multi threaded multi pointed disregard for the UK sounds very much like a grudge.

Phew glad we got that sorted out.

Back to you old man.

The masses supported him?? When push came to shove we were the only ones left standing to fight the Nazis, and Oswald was put in prison for the duration of the war as his Union of Facsists was banned.

Oh, and you clearly have a grudge against the UK and its seems very relevant.

Yes, yes, we've all heard this British nationalistic chest thumping and jingoism before - "We were the only ones standing against the Nazis! It was just us fighting to save Europe you ungrateful SOB's!"

It's all really rather boorish.

See, this is why Europe reviles the British (among other reasons). Not terribly interesting to carry-on a conversation with; we Europeans don't like having the Union Jack shoved in our pooper at every possible opportunity.

Typical brit illusion.

I guess the 100,000 + french soldiers that made it to England and the thousands of poles that made it to England and the divisions of Canadians at Englands disposal and the Greeks who never stopped fighting and other units from all over the globe and the weapons and ships and supplies the US supplied for a couple years before officially entering the war doesn't count. It was all nothing?

You say were left standing alone?

Go huff some more paint. I hear gold is the best.

typical Brits, using the world as their personal toilet:

Britain stuck up for beleaguered British Petroleum against American criticism over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill as investors appeared to shrug off news that the disaster was worse than previously estimated.

I never called the rest of Europe ungrateful or SOB's. In fact if it wasn't for the English Channel the Nazis would have stormed through us as quickly as they did through France, Poland, Netherlands and the rest. We were just lucky to have a strong navy and a just about capable air force at the time.

jefjef wrote:I guess the 100,000 + french soldiers that made it to England and the thousands of poles that made it to England and the divisions of Canadians at Englands disposal and the Greeks who never stopped fighting and other units from all over the globe and the weapons and ships and supplies the US supplied for a couple years before officially entering the war doesn't count. Canada is included in us as part of the British Empire. Aussies, Indian, Africans, Arabs and so on are also included. Of course the help of the French and the Polish (especially considering Enigma) was helpful and even crucial to the war effort, but there host nations had been defeated by the Blitzkrieg and the only ally land in Europe at the time was the UK (not even all of it as we lost the Channel Islands).

The Greeks faught very valiantly, stopping Mussolini completely and their strength actually is possibly a reason why the Nazis did not have more success against the USSR as they had to send 2 division to stay and keep the "peace" after they eventually defeated Greece. Btw, the USA did not supply weapons from the beggining of the war, they only started months before Pearl Habour (barring a bunch of very old rusty ships). Canada was our largest supplier from Halifax and Nova Scotia for the first 2 years and they lost a tremendous amount of seaman in helping us stay alive.

Because if it was the other way around the USA would be acting any differently? Please, you are even mroe corporatist then us and care less about international diplomacy and alliances then we do about our "special" relationship with you.

Shut the fuck up Titanic, where were you pussy Limeys when we needed your help to end slavery during our Civil War? You just sat on the sidelines waiting to see who would win. If you assholes had stopped trading with the South, hundreds of thousands of American lives could have been spared. And even worse, you almost openly sided with the goddamn slave drivers! So don't go playing that high horse crap.

BTW. If you search you can find what all was supplied to England after it's declaration of war with Germany. Learn before you spout your The US left us hanging bull shit.
Search Neutrality Act of November 4, 1939 (ch. 2, 54 Stat. 4)

BTW. The Channel Islands were not liberated until the day after Germany surrendered. The British Empire did not find any value in attempting to keep them or get them back. Those poor people were starving by the time the war ended.

Yes, that includes both world wars. The Brits are clever evil bastards and we Americans have been chumps.

Looking post war: Korea (not Britain fault), Vietnam (not Britains fault), Grenada (not Britains fault), Panama (not Britains fault), Gulf War (not Britains fault), Somalia (not Britains fault), Kosovo (Blair persuaded Clinton into this, rightly), Afghanistan (not Britains fault), Iraq (definitely not Britains fault, you dragged us into this).

Strong arguament there. Btw, Britain has supported Zionism for over 100 years? You aware that there was deep anti-semitism in Britain in the early 20th century and the British government disowned the Balfour Declaration in favour of the Sykes-Picot agreement directly after WWI.

For the record: I like Brits, and I admire aspects of their government. I have met Brits on this site and I probably percentage wise get along with them more than I do my fellow Americans. Grenada and Panama weren't wars. They were squashes. Korea and Vietnam were the result of anti-communism and corporate greed, heavily inspired by British Intelligence and British Imperialism which inspired our CIA and had a great influence on the way we began to conduct our affairs. Kosovo, again, a result of the US and British Cold War. The Gulf War, absolutely had a British influence. It was the Brits who created Kuwait for BP Oil's benefit and was rightly apart of what became Iraq. Was the US stupid, hell yes. Somalia, that was no war. That was a result of European and US exploitation and the US foolishly thinking they could clean up a mess easily. Afghanistan, a waste of time and a cover up for 9/11 and it's origins. I believe the Taliban deserve to be destroyed not because of 9/11 but because they are an affront to civilization as are all religious zealots of any faith. However, it's probably smarter to isolate them, forget about them, and just wait for them to kill themselves off.

It's because UK forces were too busy committing some of the greatest war atrocities and crimes against humanity the world has ever witnessed, such as the fire-bombing of Dresden*, an act so horrific that even the typically docile and servile wartime British press denounced it.

UK ruling elite, like Minister-in-Government Baron Oswald Mosley and the criminal King Edward, created the Nazi Cult and unleashed it on an impoverished German nation and then, instead of pounding their fascist creation into submission, took out their insane bloodlust on the German people. Fortunately Germany was saved from British hatemongering by courageous Soviet liberation forces.

(*As I've noted, previously, Saxi was from Saxony [not Dresden, but nearby, in Freiberg]).

Yes they by no way sat out of it. They played it safe so they could appear to be friends of the victors. But yes it would not have broken their hearts to have a divided weaker America. It's what they wanted.
