Re: Is CC Declining?
i think a league would be a great idea. as long as it isnt just another name for a clan. nothing wrong with clans and team games, but one of the drawbacks to clans are its all team games. rarely there os 1v1 wars and when there are its treated like a wnba game. when i first started playing i was big into 8 player games and could havenot cared less for heads up team games. although i like them now, we already have a place for those. i think league play could go a long way for regular risk games. 1v1, 6 player games, escalating classic....etc.

Re: Is CC Declining?
I find it sad that CC is now below 10,000 users.
I don't know about how it is now, but when I stopped playing about a year ago the community and site seemed to be improving (although the numbers were still dropping). People were complaining about having 13,000 members then.
I can't speak for everyone, but I actually quite like the community on CC and I enjoyed contributing to it. I enjoyed creating and running tournaments despite them being tedious, I tried to run a clan for a while (that failed for the most part), and I even worked with Gilligan to choose the new colours on the map when games went from a max of 8 to 12 players right before I left. I was never really that great at playing the actual games, but I still enjoyed them. The main reason I did eventually stop was due to being busy in real life and just being burnt out of the site. I realized that while I enjoyed the community and contributing to the community, playing the games were becoming more and more of a chore; they were not nearly as fun as they had been.
So, I figured that I could find another good community somewhere that I didn't have to pay $25 a year to be a member of while doing a bunch of chores at the same time. And I was right. I enjoy RISK (that's right, I used that word), but it does get old for me after a while, especially when you are paying $25 for it.
Long story short: CC is a great community but it is too expensive, and the games themselves can get old after a while. There are other communities out there that are better (or comparable), are less expensive, and less tedious to contribute to.

Well don't leave us hangin', bud. WHAT ARE THEY!?!?!
Re: Is CC Declining?
Haha, you said it, BBS. Adam is gonna bring us the final touch of CC's decline by giving us the Holy Grail of the internet he discovered. All we need is the website... If bigWham would be wise, AdamKeith would be guested immediately.
That being said, I still like my games here, even after seven years, which might seem as a small miracle. It doesn't seem like that to me, though. For me it's no miracle, it's quite obvious, because I create my own entertainment. I got my clan of which I've met 10 of my (past) clan members IRL (which is a great contributing factor, one of them is even coming to my wedding) and I got enough experience to be reasonably good at this game and thus enjoy it.
If people could easily find their way to make their own entertainment, they'll stay. Whether it be clans, regular ffa games or something else, it should be easily accessable. Clans are out there, they did a good job on that and the clan world is growing. Now the regular games should be looked at, for which the solution lies purely in the Join a Game page. That should be the first thing bW should look at in my opinion. As far as I know, bigWham has brought us some good stuff and I think he is doing the best he can, so he's got my trust. We'll go over 10k and beyond again.

don't forget, i am in utero right now in preparation of my glorious return!!! and yes, the numbers continue do decline, i think the next big step is cleaning up the create a games page. the page for new players should essentially be almost the same as the BOTS game page... limit those options until a user hits a certain rank or number of games...-Jésus noir

obviously you haven't tried to buy premium lately.
instead, try $29.99, or you can choose a payment plan, 12 easy installments of $4.99.

if you look back at your CC graphs and charts and decline-o-meters, the black jesus was not present when the spirit was shaken from this place by the Great Simian and his Thugs... the black jesus was minding his own biz, playing games and not in the forums... the forum goers from that period have all just about vanished... their Pro-CC only posting was supposed to create a new dawn/era for the CC forums... instead, it signaled the death blow... Great job EX TEAM CC, and thanks for trying to lay the blame on me Lil' Nuts Stalling-Jésus noir

I've cracked the mainframe months ago by ignoring him. The value of the forum has increased dramatically.
