Agreed I will try and clean up the red/white curve things.

Ah I hadn't really noticed that before I will fix that.

RedBaron0 wrote:The background is showing through the title block on the top.

I intended the title block to be somewhat transparent. I might make a slightly more transparent so you can see a little more track graphics thru it.

Industrial Helix wrote:I'd like to see some desaturation on the hats and cars, maybe the red and white corner things. The colors are abnormally strong and look unrealistic.

I started working on that last evening and think I can soften it all a bit and bring the colors down a little.

Victor Sullivan wrote:I'm not so crazy about the blue-outlined track territories. I just think it doesn't quite stand out as much as I'd like, and I'm not so sure the shade matches with the rest of the map. I thought the red was okay. You could try using the same red that's used in the railings.

I changed it to red in my psd and it looks good ... especially when I desaturate the red/white curve things a bit.

I will have another update soon... thanx for all the great feedback.

With the background at the top of the image the only thing that shows through is the number tower near the one checkered flag. Otherwise the block is clear. I just think you'd be better off with nothing showing through the title block. I but I see what you mean, could just clone a chunk over top the number tower to make it more uniform.

honestly... I dont see this stalemating like ever. Not with bonus rewards like that.

This map looks a little complicated for my personal taste... but so did cricket and Im starting to really dig that map.

looks good man. looks like a lot of work and thought.

I give it a thumbs up.

I'll try it both ways, more and less solid and post the results and see what people think =)

This is looking really good, but there is a typo in the Pit Crews legend. The third line should read "- Assault Pit Row". With that done, I'd say it's time for the forge!

Maybe a little work here and there, but yeah.... the small map is the major hurdle here at the moment.

Replace "Resets to 20 every turn" with "Resets to 20 every turn when held".

Ok, just 2 very tiny nitpicks before you jump up to the forge. Fix the text as suggested by spiesr, and the checkered border isn't completely uniform all the way around the map. Note the blue circles on this copy of your map that thenobodies has created. There are corresponding spots on the small map. If the space is uneven pixel wise around the map, just reduce the space for the border until it's even.

Here's a little limerick I found, to celebrate the occasion...

There once was a racer named Fisk
Who took a considerable risk.
When his dragster got traction
The Fitzgerald contraction
Reduced his wazoo to a disc.

Congrats Dolomite ;)

Other than I just noticed the background on the map and really like it, none at all. I look forward to playing this one, it looks like it will be a lot of fun :)

if u're left with only pit equipment and one of ur opponents has pit crew, then u can deduce that it's no longer possible for u to win the game (unless it's a nuclear spoils game), so u have to be careful not to lose ur pit crew. however, the symbols make the pit equipment assaults pretty clear, so there's no excuse for not reading the legend!

There's been some chatting between MrBenn and myself about your map, and since you're asking

dolomite13 wrote:Any graphic or gameplay thoughts?

so we come up with some further suggestions:

Most of them are small changes, they might be helpful to a "less expert eye" to understand correctly the map.

  1. The car in the legend could be resized to stay into its dedicated frame, something like
    Image
  2. Add the winner circle symbol next its text in the legend could help to clarify things
  3. The track/segment thing could be really unclear for a fresh eye, specially because there's no (visual/text) explanation about what track segments or locations are.
  4. Someone could think that the pit lane is a link between I1 and A1 or that there's a connection between I1 and crews... :-k

Can't wait to play this. Other than the lack of an objective, this map seems pretty good.
