4) The font of the +2, the yellowish one, is kind of hard to read.
Other than that, it is all set

1) You can't get from Panama to Colombia (Antioquia) without crossing the Darien Gap, which is much wider and much more forboding than the Mississippi. So what? It doesn't matter. Adding either would seriously damage the playability of the map.
2) It seems clear to me, but if other people think it's a problem, I guess you could put Mexico and D.F. on different lines, though that might confuse things with Oaxaca down below.
3) yes
4) The "Lesser" is the most difficult to read. I rather agree. A slight change in the hue might just fix the problem.

He was meaning the state of mississippi. He was too dumb to realize that louisiana and mississippi were merged for playabilities sake.

I like the map but think it would improve it if you changed the font on the legend and took away the images in the background
cool map

Get it taken out of the dead projects forum, that's the only way you'll get comments on it. It is also necessary to get it out of this forum in order for it to progress through the Foundry. You could PM MrBenn, oaktown, AndyDufresne, iancanton, or gimil with this request.

Moved - and if you really want folks to take a look, you could take the "vacation" tag off the title.

either I don't know where I can change the title or simply I can't change it... that may be because at some time in the development of the map my first post got deleted (while making some changes to the poll), so I no longer can edit this thread... can you change the title oaktown? or what should i do?

Ah, I see. I've edited the title and dumped the way-old poll, and when I get some time I'll see what I can do to get a post of yours up to the top. This will be a very messy thread if you can't keep the current changes on the first post, run polls, update the title, etc.

thanks oaktown... if you could add "(Map on P13)" or something like that to the title so people can go to that page while i can't keep changes on the first post... thanks again...
so, everyone.. any comments/suggestions on the map??

Right, I've sorted this problem, so maritovw now has control of the thread!

already edited the first post...
a question for MrBenn/oaktown: what is the official status of this map? is there any stamp I already have? what is the next step to take? thanks...

Well, oaktown isn't here for a bit, but I all I can guess is that you have the [Advanced Draft] stamp, if anything.

I think it is realy good. The tItle is sort of off since the galapogous islands and arazona can hardly be concidered carribean. Also I would get rid of the connection between Trinidad and Leeward Island, just becaunse it isn't that neccesary and it makes it kinda sloppy.

Wasn't this map in Final Forge before you left?
PS -- I would move R. Dominican a little to the left to avoid confusion with Haiti.

The only thing I don't like is how the United States territ names are a little pinkish. Other than that it's beautiful.
Mind telling me how you created your rectangle dotted lines for sea routes?

Agreed.
I think you just define a rectangle brush, set it to 2-4 (guess) pixels, set the spacing to ~25-50% and vwala. Same deal with the regular dotted lines.

The title issue was previously discussed. Many suggestions were given and a poll was made. "Caribbean Sea" came out as the winner by far. I think it should stay like that, unless you have something else in mind...

el-presidente wrote:Also I would get rid of the connection between Trinidad and Leeward Island, just becaunse it isn't that neccesary and it makes it kinda sloppy.
I can do that. Let's just see what other people think, ok? (people, please comment on this)
Gilligan wrote:Wasn't this map in Final Forge before you left?
I guess it was... So it should be nearing Final Forge now, right?
Gilligan wrote:I would move R. Dominican a little to the left to avoid confusion with Haiti.
To the left? Haiti is on the left so it would be more confusing... Maybe abbreviating it to "Rep. Dom." can make it fit better with less confusion... Also, I could abbreviate Puerto Rico as "Pto. Rico" to gain a bit more space...
RjBeals wrote:The only thing I don't like is how the United States territ names are a little pinkish. Other than that it's beautiful.
In fact, all territory names have a pale hue corresponding to the continent's color, but I guess it is not so evident in the other territories... Should I make US names more white? or should I make the other territories' names hue less white?

In fact, I used Corel Draw to draw the lines, but that is another way to do it.

I don't see how the Caribbean Sea is an appropriate title for a region that includes Baja California, the Galapagos Islands, and Ecuador. The map looks nice, but I think a new title is in order.

Right now the map is an 'Advanced Draft' ... This essentially means that the map is an update or two from being moved into the Main Foundry
