Overlay. But they do work. I was not going to show XML numbers until the XML was fully done. I just need to center all of teh NON PELLET territories.

It is looking quite spot on, WM. I don't see any graphical improvements that I can suggest. Everything is perfectly themed, even the "Diamonds can attack each other" being horridly unpleasant to eye...fits delightfully. :)

And the gameplay looks both strategic and fun (I especially like the various combos...and how they are diagramed).

I think those that are wanting more and more territories in maps, will be pleased with this latest map.

I dunno WM, it seems like you have taken everything simple and awesome from Pac-man and added a ridiculous amount of complexity. This map has an underlying dichotomy that makes me eyes and brain uneasy.

I'm just throwing that out there, I wont comment any further in its development because it frankly, doesn't suit my proverbial fancy. :twisted:

OK version 12. with XML
The only thing that needs to be done is the adjusted army bonuses, individual bonuses and the group bonuses.

Once we all have agreement on the bonus values and Coleman gets the coding done, I think this map is done.

I can get all that bonus work done tonight. I wish we could have a test game somehow first though as it is more code then has been done before and if there are any mistakes with it they will effect games huge.

Maybe just having yeti_c go over my logic after I write it would be enough though.

Sorry Coleman. I did not mean to imply you were being slow. If you don't get it done tonight that is OK.

I agree with your feeling that several others should look over you XML. Before you write it out maybe you should post your excel file with the bonus progression. That way everyone can see it before it is XMl and maybe find errors.

Dammit - I'll have to get DiM to create me an even more complex map so I can once more be the owner of the biggest XML file!!! AOM is at present the biggest... AOR is a close second though!! (Of course Supermax would've been bigger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

WOW that is a lot of XML. Great job Coleman. You are awesome.
As far as it look the variable territory bonus stuff looks great.

OK as far as neutrals go. Here is what Coleman said on page 3

So you are saying that the -3 wipes out the -1 and they aren't additive?

And that if you have all 3 pieces it is 5 and the -3, and the -1 no longer apply?

AND you want the -3 to take out the 2 for Conquer Man!? :?

Yep

Holding Conquer Man alone is worth +2. Then any Alien makes the total -3 ( a 5 army swing, after all the aliens kill Conquer Man without the Diamonds. Then with the Diamonds there is an 8 point swing (for powering up and killing the aliens)

So does anyone have any other issues with the current bonuses and neutrals?

Bonuses are on the latest pic and here are the starting neutrals:

8 on Conquer Man, 6 on cake, 3 on Diamonds, 1 on Aliens

You need to make them override Conquer Man as well.

Else you will get +2 for Conquer Man and then +5 for the alien and diamond (equalling 7 not 5).

We could always make Conquer Man not start neutral. Then people will be fighting over him a lot more.
