I thought that point-dumping was intentionally missing turns and losing games. I'm sure theherkman isn't missing turns etc intentionally for the purpose of point dumping.

Culpa lata dolo aequiparatur (gross negligence is equal to fraud).

I agree w/ Rodion, but I have to ask.
Since Im in the majority of these games. 501 1v1 games on AoR1,2 and 3. What would a guilty ruling mean here for me. Would any points I win in these games be taken away from me? I ask bc Ive already spent like 8 hours taking these turns, and to be honest, Im not going to waste me time on them anymore if a win is the same as a loss. That is not to say that in any way would I intentionally deadbeat or point dump.

You're in good faith and held your part of the commitment, so I guess you just win the games and get 0 punishment.

I see no reason to speculate about points dumping or other assorted schemes yet, and I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt that something has come up IRL or so, but still it's very.. disappointing to see him missing tons of turns on the first day. Makes the whole thing quiet meaningless.
End of the day, I really didn't have much expectations one way or another...

Usually point dumping results in point resets to those benefiting from the dumping, but in this case there is an exhaustive history of how the situation came about. Everyone joining his games has acted in good faith unless they knew ahead of time he was going to deadbeat. This situation usually arises more with speed games.
Mind you, all he's done so far is miss turns, not deadbeat games.

I'm not convinced he's taken any turns at all, Dan.
Joshyboy says he took some turns as a sitter earlier - have any others been taken by herkman himself?
It's still early and I'll apologise if I'm wrong and something has come up which has stopped him getting to a computer, but my gut feeling right now is that these games will deadbeat

So... let me get this straight. 1 day into this "record breaking attempt" and he's already missing many turns and relying on multiple account sisters?
This has to win an award for worst attempt at anything, ever.

Quick, some one tell Blitz to start a list of the most turns missed.

Would he make a list of something that doesn't place him at (or near) the top?

If one took 1 minute per turn, and sat 16 hours a day, that's still only 960 turns taken...
Hell if one took 1 minute per turn and sat 24 hours a day, that's "only" 1440 turns, so... 1300 games active is a f***ing big goal when one does the maths... and the man isn't even only playing conquest maps, or sticking to a single very simple map, the man has a whole range of different formats and maps...
Sure some would argue that one minute/turn is slow, but considering his spread of games, and the fact that I doubt anyone is going to be taking 3-5 turns a minute for 16 hours straight (or even close) it might be a reasonable average.
My point? none really, just that HA is very right in that I don't think any of us have a clue... just insanity, lol.
But it get's one thinking. No wonder one feels stressed on the days one is busy IRL and doesn't have time for CC. say I need 3 minutes per turn (and I do if not need, definatly want at least that much, I can't take a foggy quad turn in 30 seconds without very angry team-mates

) having only 60 active suggests I need at least 3 hours on CC to take my turns...
Just some idle thoughts at midnight before I hit the sack

I think I could do it If I wanted to.. I only need 15 seconds for a 1v1 turn.. on a small map, Say I do all Doodle, or madagascar, or something like that.,. Id say I could do around 1500 without too much of a sleep deprivation, although the problem is the other people taking their turns.. If I could take the turns and 12 hours later they all take their turns, then this would be feasable, but if the person takes it 3 or 4 or even 30 minutes after you do, you are stuck back with 24 hours to take that bloody turn.. I would never try something like this, it would totally ruin my view of C and I would quit more than likely, but to to all who have tried.. Kudos
Now if you can get 20 Friends together and they do 50 games with you each, and they all wait for let say 12 hours to take their turns, Id say you could do it with not too much of a problem..

I'm beginning to wonder if this is herkman sticking two fingers up. Make 1000+ games and never log in again?
But I know nothing about the guys character - does this seem likely?

I don't think so. theherkman annoys the HELL out of me, and I consider him to be extremely immature. But I do think he is sincere about this, and I do think that "the ego" he gains from this is important to him...so I don't think that's his plan.
