Since I use BoB, this is pretty unnecessary for me. Id prefer just to have the names on the right side (or nowhere). BoB gives me all the relevant info, so until you can integrate that level of functionality Id be happy with the layout just staying out the way.
Someone suggested putting this in the Game Settings as an option, which I totally agree with.

BOB can already hide the existing menu, so players using BOB should not be adversely affected.

Not everyone can afford one of these

Yes the less scrolling the better, I myself have not had any problem with them where they are currently and actually like them there. For those who have trouble with it, perhaps in the set-up perference section there can be an option to remove the stats or even place them at the bottom as is being proposed but do not think an entire overhaul of it is necessary. On a simliar note the action buttons for me at time are difficult to use on a single screen with certain maps, if they were placed on the right side of the map, under the players names and stats, that might be a change that I could take advantage of. I currently find myself scrolling up and down, would rather only do that for the chat section if any changes like that are even possible.

I believe rank should be posted at all times where the player's name is posted. For me, this gives the game an important military feel and context and the rank emblems just look so good. Please do not display player names without the emblems beside them. It would rob the game of flavor and character. Besides, it's not like there's not a ton of empty space on the right hand side of the map now.

What is the advantage to switching troops and regions asides from being the way BOB prints it?
There is no other advantage. There are
many of us, even new people who have been playing for 6 months or less, who use bob. Perhaps several thousand players might use bob. I think one small change that could cause confusion and loose games, is a big deal if its happening to a few thousand people.
I don't know much about writing code, but I can't imagine it being very hard to switch the two. If it would make a few thousand of us a little happier, why not? Does it not just come down to cutting and pasting a few blocks of the code? And after all, isn't the whole point of this update to make customers happy. Why go to all this trouble, but not switch that one minor thing?

If you will always give customers what they want - they will ask even more. Sometimes you need to draw the line. That is why economy survives this days.

Game Page stats "right of the map"; "below the map"; or "off"?
I'm with obliteration here. I don't really care where you put the stats, as long as there is an option to turn it off.

Hi Guys,
Just spotted this linked off the front page - good way to get people to be aware there is a forum (as an aside!)
It would be good if you could keep it all on one page and avoid scrolling.
Most people (last time I saw stats is was 80% or more, but that could be falling slowly) use 1024 x 768 so going to a wider display is a major negative compared to other sites.
The obvious option would be to make it configurable in user preferences.
Good to see you are trying different things.
Alan.

I'd prefer no scrolling horizontally, but I'm not so lazy
that I'm bothered by doing it.

Lack's peak activity is usually midweek. Expect to hear more from him over the next couple of days probably.

Why not just integrate BOB direct instead of this?

I would guess that integrating BOB would be under consideration in the big site-wide revamp planned for next year.

The site-wide REVAMP will definitely incorporate quite a bit of things.
But specifically on this issue and concerns, expect more to come of it soon.

I thought auto attack limits were high on this list. I hope when they do come, they go both ways.

i'd like to see a better 'random-map' option
like, all-random that wouldbe like it's now, and 'classic-type-random' that would randomly choose any classic-type map (like france, africa, etc.)
also allow the ranomizer to look at only big, only medium or only small sized maps, otherwise you could end up with a tiny map for 8 players, or a huge map with 2 players.

This is hilarious. Anyone who runs a business like this will be out of business in 6 months.

Key word is always. I don't say that you need to ignore them. But to plead every call - that is even worse sometimes.
