Yes

If more than 2 players remaining, all should resign

It should be not possible before round 5 or before round 3 in the case of polimorphic

Unjustified resigns could be reported composed by 3 clan leaders with a rank of at least major

Yes, but it has been reaffirmed every time that it has come up for serious discussion, up to the last time we seriously considered it (last year).

Yes, we need to have a resign button.

That being said, I agree that it will need restrictions:

Does not become enabled until Round 10

Counts as 3 missed turns on your turns taken percentage

possible other restrictions, such as what Demon suggested above.
NO

you just lose the game. everything stays the same.

the problem is this was discussed a lot of times before and it was always a no go...

There has to be a penalty of some type
Otherwise it is a bad idea
I can see it being used as a CHEAT if implemented

There are ALREADY penalties that can be assessed for throwing games...

demonfork wrote:If there was a provision that would involve a certain threshold of ratios between army counts, then maybe the surrender button could be implemented with little risk of abuse.

Meaning, one couldn't surrender until their opponent had a 4 to 1 army ratio to their own army count. Or whatever ratio is deemed appropriate.

So if player A has 32 armies and player B has 8 armies then the system would allow player B to surrender.

I'd lean towards yes b/c it would shorten games that could drag on even when there's an obvious winner. And obviously this should only be available to premium members playing premium members b/c it'd make it way to easy for Freemi's to blow through games when the idea is to bring more users into the Premium Membership Fold...

I would say yes for all 1v1 games (including poly), but no for all the rest.

doesn't matter... the one time the site had it, it was abused to the nth degree... every owner has stated there will not be a surrender button... this is not going to change... pick better settings... in before the MERGE, with the rest of the "whiner/surrender button" threads... the black jesus has spoken...-Jésus noir

"Conditionally" does not mean "yes", it means conditionally. There is a HUGE difference between the two, and that difference is actually why this hasn't been implemented.

These results are biased and therefore skewed. Just so you know.

doesn't matter owen, this isn't a thread to try to get a button, I pretty much know this wont happen, otherwise it would have been up and running for a while now, this is simply a thread to get a count of who would like to see a quit button of some kind implemented in this site. As I stated before, I don't think I have seen an actual count of this. All the threads I have ever seen on the subject has arguments over silly why and why nots. I simply wanted to put numbers to this subject so the whole site can see it.....useful piece of info to have if the owner wants to see it for some reason. And from what I have seen players like to be heard in some way.

And if you had read the intro to this thread, you would have seen all I am looking for is yes= some kind of button, if it has restrictions, that would be decided later because even if this little vote thread shows that the players want it, even if it finishes in 30 days with 500 yeses and 50 nos.....nothing will change.
that being said.....hopefully for the last time, put yes if you would like to see a button of some kind (ANY KIND
Put no if you don't want one of any kind

Something like this would need proper implementation.

For example,
- you cannot quit a multiplayer game, unless you are one of the last two players.
- You cannot quit unless you have played at LEAST 10 rounds in a game.
- You should only be able to use an "I quit" button for a limited amount of times each week to prevent abuse. Tough shit if you want to point dump, or play too many games.
- I don't agree with a 3 missed turn penalty for ending a game, especially when there's an obvious winner and ending it is a favour to both players. Too many people want punishments pushed forward for something that makes sense.
