Midway whereway? A pacific island, major WWII battle
CC Homepage I dont really care for the cc homepage as it is...
Marathon Like a running marathon? that might be cool Probably a reference to the Battle of Marathon
Thermopylae whats that? Again, referencing the Battle of Thermopylae
Election Maps (like Red State, Blue State) well I dont think anybody really wants that..... and we already have a senate map
White House

I don't really care for any of these ideas, though. Also, ideas without drafts should be posted in the Map Ideas thread, for future reference.

Hmm... That sounds kind of cool. I suggest looking into this idea. There's a Mars map you could look at for reference.

Someone already took a whack at a moon map. It was coming along nicely, then went on the dreaded Vacation, from whence it has not returned.

I think we should have more political maps à la Senate.

I've randomly come across some old Celestial Charts...perhaps a map could be modeled off something similar...for "connecting the stars" to make constellations. And they just look cool too.

hmm... i had a good idea of a baseball map recently, and it could have some features like the batter could bombard the outfield and attack any base/shortstop, the pitcher could bombard the catcher/batter and attack every base, and it could have some different objectives

This is the first map I'll make if I ever get time. I did suggest it a while ago :)

Total Sports Map

I like the idea of something sports related. Perhaps there could be a combination of all sports on an actual map of North America. If you put all the teams fromt he major 4 sports as territories, that would be 122. You could also take out hockey and go with 92. Bonuses could include holding divisions or conferences of sports or whole sports and/or geographic regions, like SoCal, the Bay Area (Oakland/San Fran), New York, New England, etc. I like the bonuses being holding conferences for the sports. That's eight bonuses, but a smaller bonus for divisions would also be good as well. Additional Bonuses could include major historical franchises, like the Yankees, Cardinals, Lakers, Celtics, Cowboys, Steelers, Packers, Red Wings, etc. It would be an interesting map and the bonus possibilities with it are intriguing.

An additional idea, which I now think is probably better, stemming from what bryguy said, if there were a set of sports maps. One map dealing with each sport. The difficulty with that is making them too much alike. We already have a lot of classic set up maps. A little complexity/differentiability between the maps would obviously be the best, but the general idea would be close to the same, much like the AOR map set.

How about a Pangea influenced map? it would be a good even fight with close contact and neat terraformed natural barriers. Just google search images of Pangea and make something from that, I'd play it...

Hey, I haven't read any of the previous forum posts. Has anyone ever thought of doing a map based on a circuit board?

I'm kind of interested in this. I made a stab at a hurling (gaelic sport) map which has a rough draft in the map ideas sub-forum. But I think that the mechanics could be taken from that and modified for any of the sports where offense and defense are on the field/pitch/court/rink at the same time (as opposed to american football). Take a look and I kind of like the idea of taking those mechanics (if they work as I hope they will) and adapting them for a series of sports (though I'd rather not restrict to just American sports).

i dont see that at noob-bashing?
im simply saying that it would be a boring map, if he wants to make a map, which i have no problem with, then he has to be able to take some critisism-and what i said is tiny critisism.

anyway soz if you got 'offended' by that kona.

I'd like to see an Alaska map. There's six regions. The Aleutians, the Southcentral, the Southeast (sometimes called the panhandle), the Interior, the North Slope (sometimes called the Arctic or the Far North), and the Western region.
