you can drop a game, till it starts that is.
and why drop a game?
you mean without lossing points well that aint fair is it...
peeps should not commit to games if they cant honour their timecommitment(e.g. i should not have joined a game that would last till xmas, i beatbeated 2 rounds, i am still sorry i did that)

just waste 3 rounds and you are out. thats all you have to do...

lack is going to implement a skip turn/vacation button so if you are away it will skip your turn automatically. Then if you want to deadbeat on purpose you can do that quicker as well.

ABout a drop button if the game just started.

This is an example, this didn't happen but something like it did. :D
I joined a doubles game and I wanted a certain player to join after me.
But some other player beat him to joining the game, then it would be cool if I could then drop the game so someesle could join and I could join other game with my partner.

I think as long as nobody as taken a turn you should be able to drop a game.

You can already do this. As long as the game has not begun you can drop out anytime you want.

thanks

excellent...thank you. that's exactly what I'm talking about. Hopefully the deadbeats will use that instead of keeping the rest of us waiting around for days for them to get booted.

It happens everyday...people are losing so they stop taking their turn and therefore drop after three missed turns.

SirSebstar wrote:you mean without lossing points well that aint fair is it...

I didn't say that did I?

But if you had had an option to drop that game, then you wouldn't have had to make everyone else sit around and wait 72 hours for you to get dumped.

SirSebstar wrote:just waste 3 rounds and you are out. thats all you have to do...

That's exactly the problem...that's what people are doing all the time and it makes everyone have to sit around and wait for 24 hours for each turn that they dead beat on until finally they get dumped. By instituting some type of drop option, those people can extend a courtousy to others and drop out instead of making them wait.

Sounds very good. I was away over New Year and missed a few turns and I felt sorry for the other players in my games. Then, controversially, I won 1 as a result! :D

Having a higher post count would fulfill all my dreams in life - I was hoping nobody caught on.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that nobody should lose points for dropping out of a game that's already started.

The only change, as I see it, would be instead of somebody deadbeating until they're forced out by not taking turns, thus holding up the game for days, would be that they choose to eliminate themselves by dropping out.

This would still show them as being eliminated, and thus they'd lose points.

You're too quick to dismiss real life: you never know when an emergency will come along. And yeah, even if it's a family emergency or something, some may have the presence of mind to use a drop out option instead of holding up the game.

no!

i think it would give just more problems like people who are joining games and then drop it and do that several times.
you can let all there armies be neutral and that would happen many times and with 10 neutral territories is not fun either is it?

I personally think people should be ejected for missing even one turn. It's not going to kill anyone to lose a game if they neglect to play. It would cut that 72 hours of waiting down to 24 in many cases, though.

Sometimes for one reason or another I have missed a few turns i normally ask someone to account sit BUT my account sitter actually missed a turn that is what I call unfair if that happened another option on the create game so you know how many turns you can miss

the surrender button

i think there should a way to surrender if your beat and have no chance of winning you should able to surrender and get on to another game

I was down to 4 armies, 1 territory in no card game...I won...NEVER GIVE UP

i agree you should not give up, but we all know there are those games where you feel beaten and dont want to play it. Now especially this would be helpful for those without premiums. Then if they surrendered then it would open up another game for them.

from what i hear, this was an option when this site first opened, but was so overused that it was banned.

it was used so people wouldnt give away their cards

Not a good idea - i also won from having 1 territory not too long ago. It would spoil it for the remaining players too

If that was the reason it was stopped there is an easy solution. Attach the cards to the territories if a player surrenders. So the territories remain just the player doesn't - i.e his colour shows but he no longer players. That said i'd agree with others - i've had some amazing come backs - its not over till you have no territories :)

FYI - another reason we got rid of it - people were "game hopping"
