the snow looks too artificial, though i really dont know how you could make it more realistic

So after I played Oasis and saw how perfect it was to get people to complete the objective of holding the grand oasis and moving away from fertile land, I was wondering...is Winter going to be the same way?
Will people actually move out of the village? I think that's one of the major points that you need to keep in mind, but I might be wrong. You did it for Oasis. I think you can do it for winter too, but i cant really imagine how.

make the village bigger and the outer buildings closer. maybe have some snow free ground or something where the cold won't hurt u

hey wca,
As a huge fan of the oasis map I can hardly wait for your latest creation to be playable.
If your still looking for suggestions I was thinking it might be called "the Frozen Wastes"

Thanks for the support!
We don't need any new name suggestions. We decided on Winter a few pages back.
Anyway, this map is on hold for a while. I have been working on the Centerscape revamp, and now finals are coming up for school, so I won't have much free time.

It would appear that development of this map has stalled. If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the CAs will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system,
after an update has been made.

Everyone starts out in those houses in the center, all other territories start out neutral. (might want to add a few more houses. 40 would be a nice number since everyone gets 5 in an 8 man game)
Bonus System Change: Recourse + House = 1
Why I like this gameplay: While the houses are all in the center and sort of crammed with each other, they do not provide any type of bonus, so even under the current situation, you wan to go and get a recourse. But what good is it if you have a recourse and no houses to supply it to in real life? So, what this does is it makes is a lot more realistic. You get money (deployment) for everyone who you supply the recourse too. Meaning that you can't just go off to the side of the map and use all your troops to get a recourse, the center is what you have to fight over, but it is useless if you don't have the edges of the map. The edges are useless without the center.
Please end the vacation. It is a great map and looks really good.

I'm considering taking this out of retirement and working on it again....
It'll give me something else to work on in Photoshop, at least. And I've learned a few new tricks
For the village/starting position problem, I think it would work to instead of having the one super-village, I would have multiple clusters of 5-7 territories each spread throughout the map.
A bunch of mini-villages instead of one big one.
I am still strongly against adding more impassables. Instead of impassables, the long distances between villages would help slow the game down and make the fighting less about conquering and controlling land. More about travelling from place to place, since you would have little chance of being able to defend everything you own.
