with the likely overlap between cc16 and CL it would be tough to do a merger as i understand the rules without awaing the small window that TOFU/SM took ...
As I unterstand it the main purpose of one of the rules about changing clans is to avoid having a player play for 2 clans in the same tournement

my request (which would seem to need a rule change) would be to allow a clan that wishes to merge with another in a a future tournement that has not yet started enter that new tournement as a newly merged clan, while allowing the cureently seperate clans to finish any current tournement as 2 seperate clans even though the future tournemt would start before the current one finishes ---

it does not seem to me any more likely that one clan would throw games in the tournement they are both regardless of whether the new tournement starts a few days after the first tournement finishes (allowed) or starts a few days before (not allowed )

To continue, this "new" clan wishes to play in Conquerors Cup 15 (it's 1 year behind CL for whatever reason). Both clans are currently participating in Clan League 16 and wish to be able to fulfill their commitment there as well, rather than just dropping out like dillholes. Correct?

we are leaning towards 2 but still negotiating both clans are struggling with having 12-15 active members some of whom have gone quiet and at least 1 is stuggles with war planning falling 90% or so to only one of the leaders for about 3 years....
the TOFU-iSM merger certainly pushed one of us to want to act, but not quite fast enough to settle things before CL 16 started

i'm worried that a few members abandoning cc due to RL might make it hard for one or both clans to continue another 11 months or so untill both tournements finish
we'd prefer to be able to merge retaining history before CL15 (path #2) but if thats impossible i also would like your thoughts as to whether if we called ourselves a new clan without history (path 1) that that new vehicle could join CL15 while the same players are playing with current clans in cc 16 ?

I want to say that I am personally very appreciative that you brought this up like this rather than just wait until the last minute and just abandon the tournament! That being said, if there is ANYTHING I or the CD team can do to help keep more clans active, we will do it. That includes trying to find new members (something that has not turned out very well despite the work put in), opponent research, map rank of your own clan to help plan, literally creating the games/inviting the players, paying premium for anyone who needs help or pretty much anything else one can imagine. But, we also understand if things are simply beyond help at this time.

So, from an "administrative" stand point, I would say it would be far easier to separate out CL16 and CC15 if the two clans formed a whole new clan. It's cleaner that way, if that makes sense. However, that is likely not something that FALL (or another clan) would want to do for so many reasons and that is 100% understandable. I believe the CD team will fully support what you are requesting here, as it is by far the more honorable approach than simply dropping out and not fulfilling a commitment.

Maybe this is the wrong place to post, but I've recently came back from a long hiatus, and felt like playing a game, when I noticed I had some credits that will most definitely disappear when this site, or I, also disappear. I bought myself a years premium, but I have just enough (608) left to gift a month to someone. I would prefer it to be in the clan world, and if someone knows a good soul to send it to that may help them stick around a bit longer, let me know please.

for long tournaments I think it would be nice for 3 clan members to have privileges if needed , but perhaps irrelevant if we can swap a member midstream ... this would allow a bit more flexibility for holidays / vacations / and allow better planning and scouting ./gently breaking in a new leader.... if this isn't a challenge for coding ,

It would be possible but imho unnecessary. We could issue privs to a new person very quickly if required.
