Oh luns... Peyton's int got the Cowboys back in the game
and Tony's int gave the Broncos the winning FG attempt.
Entertaining game.

Reminded me too much of last year's playoff game against the Ravens. Thankfully our D got off the field.
There's no doubt our defense needs to step up though. Von and Champ can't come back soon enough.
If Von ever smokes weed again I'm removing him mentally from the team.

Jump right in, the more the merrier or something like that.
The balance of power early in this NFL Season and the closeness
of games will certainly drive a few people nuts. I haven't paid a
lot of attention to the point spreads, but it has to be a killer.
Shock & Awe? The Chiefs and Seahawks starting out 4-0
while the Giants and Steelers are 0-4
The early pick I overlooked that can be tossed out there
beyond what teams might make the post season...
Who meets in the Super Bowl
and who wins it ?
Broncos 38 vs Seahawks 24

IF the NFL Postseason began today I think The Saints and Broncos would be favored to reach the Super Bowl, the Packers, Niners and Seahawks on the NFC side and Chiefs, Pats and Colts on the AFC side might have other ideas.
Terrell Pryor's return to the Raiders line up and Tony Romo's 500+ passing yards were both big surprises yesterday, as the Swiss Cheese pass defense proved worthless in Arlington, TX.
Week 5
Bills @ Browns . . . Cleveland defense & backup QBs streak on
Saints @ Bears ... cool Brees in the Windy City
Pats @ Bengals ... a final shower swamps Brady's comeback
Lions @ Packers ... a Lambau smush that surprised me
Seahawks @ Colts ... Seattle finally loses a close one
Ravens @ Dolphins... Fish get served with a late FG
Eagles @ Giants ... who was more desperate here? NY is 0-5
Jaquars @ Rams ...no surprises here
Chiefs @ Titans ... another good one, three road winds & KC is 5-0
Panthers @ Cardinals ... Newton got baked in the desert
Broncos @ Cowboys ... pass defense was wishful thinking and Romo stopped short.
Texans @ Niners ...wow, Houston was a no show last night.
Chargers @ Raiders ...a left coast shocker as Pryor returns to rip SD
Jets @ Falcons - Smith goes 16/20 and 3TDs & Folk kicks a game winner on the final play.
Atlanta is now 1-4
7-7 . . . 46-31

Ew, 6-8 this week. 46-31 total.
As long as Geno keeps his head on straight, Jets can be dangerous. Their defense keeps them in games.

Broncos and Saints both look capable,
but I doubt it will happen.
Of course who'd a thunk the Giants & Steelers could be winless
at this point, with the Chiefs 5-0 and the Falcons at 1-4.
I'm picking the Bears to make the Giants a shocking 0-6.

There is a grain of truth in what is said mixed with a bunch of stupid generalizations that aren't necessary. America certainly has a way of confusing it's priorities and there are way too many schools with the head football coach as the highest salary at the university.
I was genuinely surprised when a local high school opened a
$60,000,000 football complex that seats 18,000 last year.

Agreed. They seem to be drawing a line in the sand and saying that people that care about the future of the country belong on one side while troglodytes that like sports belong on the other. The article isn't as much about asking why the coaches tend to be paid so well (it's because a good coach's salary will usually be more than made up for by additional TV revenue) as it is about how much the author hates football.
The fact that they throw out Steubenville as if that is the norm for the country is equally baffling in my mind. Most of the country was horrified when they heard about that, now it's an epidemic?

The Athletic Director at University of Texas is retiring
after reigning over many eras and decades in sports.
His comments on a sports segment of the news were
interesting in reference to the future of collegiate
sports and in particular Football. He said Football bears
no resemblance at all to the game as he knew it and as
such can't predict where it will go from here.
