No - that would be unfair to the freemium players in this tourney.
I can open the Christmas map whenever the tourney requires - mod powers.
Unhinged wrote:how are players eliminated? lowest score(s) from each "day's" games?
20 games, eliminating 12 players, curious how is decided on those 12
I'll find tiebreakers, don't worry.

And with that, all Day 1 games have finished, and the results have been entered into the spreadsheet.
The tiebreaker used to separate those players eliminated first in their games was the round in which they were eliminated.
Because of the way the numbers were distributed, the two players who deadbeated and the 7 players eliminated in Round 7 or earlier will be eliminated, and the 6 players eliminated in Round 9 or later will advance to Day 2.
However, the 5 players eliminated in Round 8 will play a 5-player tiebreaker game with Day 1 settings. The last two standing in this game will advance to Day 2.

When can we expect the invites for Day 2 to come in?

I'm hoping no more than a week from today.
Day 1's tiebreaker game is still ongoing, but it is in Round 5, so hopefully it will be over soon.

Well, the last official Christmas tourney took 3 years.

Day 1's tiebreaker game has finally concluded! Congratulations to [player]silversun6[/player] and [player]bigblueXLII[/player] for finishing 1st and 2nd, respectively, and advancing to Day 2.
Day 2 groups and games will be made later tonight.

All Day 2 groups and games have been made, and Auto-Join links have been PMed to all active players.
Best of luck to all!

My apologies for allowing 48 hours to stretch into 72 - it's been a busy week.
Invites have been sent to all players who have not yet joined their games. Players who do not accept these invites will be replaced.
Also, jklash12 and bobf have been discovered to be multis and banned from CC. They will be replaced in this tourney by fmdm03 and Dillybarr, respectively.

That will happen later today.

So I noticed! Day 2's Results have been added to the standings spreadsheet.
There will be no need for a tiebreaker game in this round - 6 players have been eliminated, but all but one has been added to the end of the reserve list (just in case).
You guys can expect Day 3 to start tomorrow.

Yes - a freemium who asked me for some extra time to join. He should be joining soon.

Question- are players with the fewest points at the end of the round eliminated or players who lost the game?

Fewest points.
What about for team games, since there doesn't seem to be a point awarding system for them?

You're right. Fewest points for non-team games, but in team games all members of losing teams are eliminated.
My apologies.

So fewest cumulative points through all the challenges in this event or fewest points from that round for non team games?
Haha sorry, I'm confused
