update v23 [11 Sep 2011]
I've thought a great deal over the frame surrounding the legend, and as Qoh points out it was difficult to see the lions right, so it's become a more simple frame.

I don't know if you really need the "passables" legend. Everyone knows by now that a line between two territories means they are connected, the same with bridges. You can keep the impassables legend if you want, although that is also borderline redundant...
Most importantly, by removing these redundant elements, you'll have more room for your minimap and you can make it larger. Then you can get rid of that mish-mash of lines and instead put the bonus area names on the bonus areas.

Natty has a very god point here. impassables and bridge crossing are so universal in so many maps I don't think you need to include them in your legends. That extra space with allow you to make your minimap bigger, which is a much more important aspect of your map.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

yes thise things are obvious i think, you probably also realize how and where you can attack and not.
I do not like the red frame, I think the mini map is much better without a frame.

v24 [12 Sep 2011]
New Legend
what I'm think about changing: autodeploy and victory text, move it up in the mini map area.

I really liked the border you had around the continent listing (now minimap). Any chance of putting it back on? Or did others have major issues with it?

frame had small lions with hearts, it was hard to see what it would imagine because it was so tiny I made the frame therefore more simple

Re: Denmark v24 [12 Sep 2011] Gameplay pg1. map update pg1/1
Hey, Flapcake. Gameplay-wise, I think Midt Jylland could stand to be lowered to +6 (5 borders, 8 territories, central location, but easy access to two cities) and Syd Jylland could stand to be increased one to +5 (5 borders, 5 territories, central location). Fyn could potentially increase by one, just because it's such a hub, but with 4 borders and a city, I could go either way.
Graphically, the main thing that sticks out for me is the water. First of all, it's a very plain, even cheap, perhaps, texture, but secondly, the land is an overhead view, while the water has a different perspective (it seems to be going toward a horizon line).

Latest updated map: V25 - 13-sep-2011
Legen improved, special effects (the sea) fill / decoration, lion at sea.
Gameplay: the obstacles I made in midtjylland, I was well aware that it was important for gameplay, so it's fixed the now.
Sully you've got an eagle's eye
The sea is a picture of the real sea, whit just some filters on so it's not real basis. I have layd a little effect on top, so now it does not look like it flows into the horizon, I am very satisfied with this verision.

Is the lion with the heart a national symbol? I'm not that familiar with Denmark.
Also, the two territory connectors to Samsø look odd compared to the others. They're in a straight line where every other connector isn't, and though it has no rational basis makes me think that Samsø is optional when attacking from Horsens to Kalundborg. This could be fixed by scooting the Horsens/Samsø connector up to meet the middle of Samsø instead of its fat south.

Yes the lions and hearts are national symbols, the Danish Coat of Arms have 3 blue lions and 9 red hearts.
I can see that the sail rute from Horsens go strait into samsø where the lines go from samsø to Kalundborg, i will move one of them so they dont look connected.

I like how the map looks and I like the idea of having a some danish king in the upper left. Like I said I like the idea of having some danish king not a queen. Denmark is an old country so there are plenty of kings to chose from and kings that not only were symbols but that actually ruled the country. If this was a map of Sweden I think the royalty in the upper left should be Gustav Vasa. And I'm thinking you should pick a king with similar importance to Denmark. Now I'm not very good at danish kings but I know that Kristian, Valdemar and Gorm were somewhat important kings. Margareta II is one of the least important head of states of Denmark because of her limited power. So I think you should pick someone else. The same thing applies to our current swedish king. It doesn't really matter that you've sat for 40 years if you don't rule the country! She also looks very much alike the British queen so there's risk of confusion.

Is the leopard with the heart on it, like the one you have here, a well-known symbol in Denmark? I know the coat of arms has a field of hearts behind the leopards, but not joined together like yours.
I agree with having the current queen on this map, since it's a map of the current state and not a historical one. If you wanted to pick a king, I'm sure Knud the Great would be the most well-known internationally.

Hey Gillipig thanks for your comment, it is not a historical map, it is called Kingdom of Denmark as the country has carried that name for 1000 years, even if it is a queen whos rules. Right now it is Margaret ll and when Frederick 10 take over, we can switch her out. If it was a historic map then Christian 4 would be my favorite.

Hi Tolke, thanks for your comment.
Denmark's coat of arms consists of three walking, blue lions with red tongues and crowned with golden crowns. A golden shield forms the background and this is coated with 9 red hearts, or as they are officially called, sealeafs.
The current version of three-lions-weapon introduced by Frederik 6 in 1819, whereby it was clarified that the three weapons figurines would in future look forward and not towards the viewer, because this type of heraldic figure described as a "leopard" and not as a "lion".
why the heart are inside the lion are for connecting those things. i will swap that whit one more original

I'm going to put this map up for review in the next bulletin. The gameplay looks reasonable to me, I'll see what the other CAs think. If there are no unaddressed concerns from the CAs and community in the next week or so, expect a stamp.

This isn't gameplay, but the shadow effect on the borders looks different depending on the continent color. This is most striking between the red Midt Jylland and the orange Sønder Jylland. I think it's by using the Screen blending mode, which switching to Normal and fudging with opacity should make them look similar across the board.

all the territories had the same blend / inner glow, I have adjusted a little on them separately, the inner glow has become more anonymous now.
Legend looks improved, its not so dool or boring to look at now

I know exacly how you feel. After looking at the map for countless hours and changing it countless times, there comes a point of brain freeze. A couple of quick things for you to check over while you get your brain out of neutral are...
Add 888's to the map so you can make sure everything still fits and does not look cluttered or have them overlap etc.
Count you fonts. How many do you have on the map.
The connection between Samso and Kalundborg looks messy. Clear that up and have a look around for anything else that looks messy.
Some of your bridges look pixelated, most do not.
