seems like we've found the optimal architectural structural shape. expect buildings to all be made of mini arcs 50 years from now.

I was in Nagasaki two weeks ago and can report all is well and normal there. I'm not sure if the lower pic is just a colorized WWII era job or if it's really from a tsunami devastated (strongly suspect it's just a color pic from either Hiroshima or Nagasaki after they were bombed) but I can tell you the distance between Nagasaki (on Kyushu, the southern-most of the four main islands) and the Tohoku region in the northeastern part of Honshu, the largest of the four main islands is about 1000 miles. In other words, It's as if there was an earthquake in Boston and Detroit ended up looking like that. Now Detroit may indeed look like that (haven't been there in a long time) but it's certainly not due to any earthquake in Boston.
Long story short, the lower pic is 100% NOT a picture of Nagasaki in the present. It's a lovely city if you're ever in that part of the world.

For those of you more visually oriented, you can see Nagasaki in down the left hand side of this map. They had about a 3 foot swell in their waves that day.
