Surrender Button

Hey there, I propose adding a 'surrender' button to game - it's pretty annoying when the game is already CLEARLY decided and people don't take their turns for 23 hours so you can't get a free slot.
I know in Risk, when played in real life amongst friends, when the game is obviously over because someone controls 75% of the map and has 5x as many troops as the remaining couple of players, people usually acknowledge that things are over and stop playing;
it's just really painful to have to sit through a lost game for 3 additional days because of slow people, when you just want to surrender, call it a game, and get another one started.
I know that this could be abused, so perhaps make it available only after a certain number of turns have passed or perhaps when someone controls more than half the map? Just a thought, but I would love to see something like that implemented.
Thanks!

This type of suggestion would have to be a site change, not a tool or add-on, so you are in the wrong place. And sadly, this suggestion is already in the list of suggestions which have been rejected (repeatedly). As you said, it can be abused. I believe at one time there was such a button and it was abused. It was removed and will not be back. I will move this topic (if I can) to the regular Suggestions forum, where I expect the moderators will merge it with the existing topic.

the title says it all, please do so, and if you are writting about this post and saying it already been done and it won't happen you never played 1 vs 1
why keeping playing rounds when the game is already over ?
why not make a quit button for 1 vs 1 ?
and please don't say it will get some abuse, just kick out of the site those who abuse it
thx

Why ask a question you know the answer to?
1.) It's been suggested more times than you have fingers and toes
2.) It's been rejected an equal amount of times
3.) it would be far more trouble than it's worth for the men in orange.

finally an answer, i habve to disagree with you, i understand that in more than 1 vs 1 it would be abuse but in 1 vs 1 i mean come on, i play a lot of these and especially on manual games, why continue playing 10-15 more rounds instead of just clicking a button and end the game ?

so right now it's 50% of the CC players who don't like the idea, gotta be 50% +1, why not try it agaibn just for the 1 vs 1 games
was it tried with 1 vs 1 games before ( and only 1 vs 1 ) ?
if not why not try it ?

So how about we just make 1v1 games a simple heads vs tail then? Heads, I win, Tails, you win?
btw, I DID answer you. When this option was still around, people abused it like CRAZY. People make a multi, join a bunch of 1v1 games to up their score. Would make point dumping so much more easy for players. There would be in essence no technical 1v1 game that ever ends that won't be via a "quit" button, which takes out the notion of
Feel the thrill of victory as you crush your last opponent.

i hear you but i still think it would be the best thing to do, and btw there's some people working for CC to catch the one who are cheating, so let em do their jobs, i mean i'm not going to make myself a bigmac at mcdonald's when i order it ....

oh yeah and btw feeling the thrill of crushing your last opponant doesn't make sense in a 1 vs 1 game since it is the only opponant you playing ....

And you think that they don't do enough work as it is? Just let them do more work, making it harder for them? If you don't like the fact that 1v1 manual games drag out so long, don't play them. We can't simply go on the honor code, hoping people will do the right thing. This HAS been tried before, and failed miserably, and the owner of the site has made it VERY clear that it won't be coming back.

i'm pretty sure it was not tried with 1 vs 1 games ONLY, but i understand your point of view and still think my suggestion is the best thing to do
how about a vote on that, maybe the owner will change is mind, you never know

Want me to show you the pages upon pages of rejected by lack? He knows people want it, but he won't do it.
viewtopic.php?f=471&t=67152You really think he ignores 84 pages of people requesting it?

well you did not answer me right, let me say it again, was it tried with 1 vs 1 games ONLY ?

It was still abused in 1v1 games. Why wouldn't it be abused?

so you're answer is = no it was never tried with 1 vs 1 games ONLY,
so still is a great idea
why don't we try it to see if it's true ?
it's like saying hmmm i'm not gonna vote for that guy cause he will probably do like hitler did ? yeah i know hard a bit but still same logic

SO what makes you think that, even though it was still used in 1v1 games, and still abused, that it will no longer abused? Show me your logic behind that. What will make people not abuse it?

ok enough for me, but i still think it would be one of the best idea
like playing chess, even in chess they get a quit button .....( actually you just move your king on the side )

This is not chess, and this is not like any other Risk based website. Just because some other website does it, does not mean we will do it. If they were to make people pay $50 for premium, would you want CC to do that too?
And don't avoid my question, I already explained reasons on why they would abuse it.
People make a multi, join a bunch of 1v1 games to up their score. Would make point dumping so much more easy for players.

if some people abuse it, like i said earlier, CC got some cheating moderators ready to catch them, and kick em out of the site, here you go for your answer, and if you gonna reply = moderators already have enough job, well my answer is that = GET MORE MODERATORS AND IF THEY DON't like their jobs they just quit it, easy as that now make a quit button for 1 vs 1 games ONLY
