the sperm one was a joke lol.... and yea the one by widowmaker
Here's an idea:
A Desert map. Normal territories have decay, exactly like in Dustbowl.
But then there are oases scattered about (maybe 8?), where +1 is auto-deployed every turn. And then there could be resources (Gold mines, salt mines, etc). I envision it with attacking lines, like in Midkemdil.
I think this idea has a lot of potential, in the right hands. What do you guys think?

yea it does have potential, and the parts i bolded made it sound like u got the idea from staring at empire builders desert parts for awhile

Not at all, it just kind of popped into my head. It could probably work with the empire gameplay well, though.

I was thinking about the desert idea...
And I might make it, if i get a good enough idea worked into it.
What if it was a desert, with a bunch of oases scattered about, each giving +1 auto and +3 normal deploy.
Each desert territory gives you a -1 decay.
The desert will start as all neutral, with 1s or 2s on each desert territory. Each oasis has 2 neutrals on it. A ring of normal countries around the entire map is where everyone will start. there will be a lot of them, so no one risks getting eliminated early on.
There will be some form of a trade route across the map. You win by connecting one end of the route to the other. That would pretty much be that you took over the entire route and your empire can use it to trade (the story behind the map). You would have to make a path across the desert to connect the two ends.
It would be kinda set up like this (but not as a grid shape):
X is where the players start, randomly deployed on all of them.
O is the desert.
W is each end of the trade route.
A few oases would be put in to replace some of the desert areas.
Good idea?

I don't like the trade routes part... but I think some kind of combination of our ideas would make a good map.

ive got sort of an idea.
wat if we had a map w/ only 2 territorys? it could be a 1 on 1 dice battle (not for the idiots who think the dice are really rigged, of course) we could have each territory strt w/ like 100 armies and they could just battle it out.
Any thoughts?

Rigged dice or not, that would be purely luck. So NO.

Yeah. the trade route idea was just thrown in there. Cause I like the desert idea, but it needs something a bit more. A story behind it or something. or at least a reason for why you would be fighting over the desert.
I like the oasis idea, but I'm not sure about the resources thing mentioned earlier. Would it be the kind of thing in AoM where you have to connect the resources to different things, or just indavidual countries that give bonuses?
If we could work out a way to use this as a good map, I would consider making the image. If we only had enough of an idea to work it from.
What if we did the ring of starting countries I explained in my previous post, but make it a race to a center oasis (theres probably treasure or something there, so everyone wants to get to it) that is bigger than all the others. It would be made of 3 or 4 territories, and you win if you manage to hold it for a turn. There would also be a bunch of smaller oases (single territories) scattered over the desert. each small oasis gives a +2 bonus, and you would be able to take some of them on your way to the large oasis.
It would be a strategy map. kinda like the AoR maps, where you have many options of how to play it, many different strategies that can still win.
Imagine, A fast paced battle, big armies moving all around the map. Two or three players fight over the big oasis, while the 4th player collects all of the smaller ones, then runs in and destroys everyone with the big bonuses.
If you don't mind, I would like to attempt making a map like that. I would credit you with the original idea. Do you think it would work enough to be made into a map?

I got an image worked together (more of a concept image. just to show the point of the map). Its not quite finished yet, but here is some of the backstory:
It is a fertile land split in two by a desert. rumor has it that there is a great treasure in the grand oasis. all of the tribes in the fertile area begin to fight and rush to the great oasis, each of them wanting to be the one to get the treasure.
Desert is -1 decay.
Each small oasis gives +2
Each of the 3 sections of the grand oasis decays -3 (the treasure is booby trapped)
You must hold the grand oasis for one turn (or kill all of your opponents) to win.
Ill be posting the map later. watch for it.

Sounds cool. Make sure to include a lot of territories. It sounds like it will need to be a pretty big map.
