But I am neither a burger flipper nor a college student, and I am still falling asleep at my computer.

I don't blame the kids, I blame the parents for being stupid. Kids aren't inherently dumb, they can only learn from whats around them.

It's quite dissapointing that most people resort to outdated concepts of gender roles to get a laugh with these posters. There are some legitimately funny posters in this thread, but there are some really heinus, dumb posters which belong with the stoneage - It's the 21st Century people - 'Women in the Kitchen' -esque jokes are not funny or even slightly intelligent. The posters that belong in the 'NSFW HOT & SEXY' thread are also not very clever -

It's too bad that people can't take jokes anymore.

Certain jokes are distateful. Like those comedians who made fun of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

This retort is intellectually dishonest. Just because I like my humour to have some class and an element of being clever, doesn't mean I "can't take a joke" -
For AOG - Yes, we are there

So persons who enjoy looking at hot & sexy pics aren't clever? Is it you're assertion that lust and intelligence are inverse functions?
Also you are aware that the two most prominent posters in that thread are women, yes?

I think that turning NSFW HOT & SEXY pics into a 'demotivational poster' that includes a not-very-witty retort (see 'Happy Holidays Arm Bra' and the myriad of other examples) as been not very clever.
I didn't say that the NSFW thread itself was an antithesis to clever (I don't really care, because that thread isn't
trying to be clever - It's quite clear that its sole purpose is for a perve and an easy access 'jerk page' ) Where as the demotivational posters are an attempt at humour and wit, but unfortunately many of them fall short.
Also - re: the fact that Clapper and Robinette are prominent posters in the NSFW thread. What exactly is your point? That two females participating willingly in the subjugation and objectification of women's bodies means that the thread must be ok? What would you do if two other females came out and stated they thought the thread was mysogynist? Would that mean that the thread must be this? Just because the speaking and subject positions are the same doesn't inherently mean anything - (to summaries - Who cares if there are two women actively posting in the NSFW thread? It doesn't magically change the content)

jake, how do you know YOU'RE not being a misogynist? Who are you to decide what is and isn't good for women? If clapper and Tisha (and the models who pose for the pictures) think it's ok for those pictures to be there, then f*ck, I don't see what's wrong.
And honestly, it doesn't matter because 100 years from now people will look back at the early 21st century and question how we could be so sexist or racist or homophobic or whatever. Even though that entire area is so incredibly subjective.

I didn't decide what is and what isn't good for women - I was just questioning the idea that just because two women think it's ok, does that inherently mean that it is? (Which, is obviously subjective in itself - But I always find myself asking these questions) - I already said I don't care about the NSFW thread - I did not claim that it was 'not clever', like TG asserted, I just didn't think bringing them into another thread with retarded, unwitty remarks was clever.
I do have a problem with how our culture depicts women and the insidious, subtle way in which women's bodies are used to advertise products (mostly with unattainable, airbrushed and photoshopped faces and bodies). I have a problem with it because so many people (of all genders) find themselves with massive image and self-esteem issues - and we respond to this by presenting unhealthy and impossible bodies as some kind of goal for self-worthiness. Although I think the NSFW thread is an extension of this culture, it is slightly different because it isn't inherently advertising anything, and it is in its own place - If you do not want to see the thread, then it is easy to not click on the link. Therefore, I do not have a problem with the thread, or the people who choose to participate within it, but I do have my opinions, and when I feel the need to say them, I will.

Ah well I understood your post to mean that the "posters" was generally speaking, not restricted to a few incidences of "demotivational posts." I don't assert that the posts are clever, just that the posters there aren't necessarily stupid because they post there.
Otherwise I agree with AoG.

You can't make a sweeping statement like "they are clever" or not. It's poster by poster. The arm-bra one isn't funny, but the "fixed" one is. I don't care if that makes me sexist, if it's a funny joke I laugh.
Being a white male living in the US I'm pretty much already labeled a racist/misogynist/fat guy, so I might as well embrace it (though I laugh at anti-white, anti-male and anti-US jokes as well).
